State and enterprises join hands to consume mountainous agricultural products
Vietnam is a country blessed with a variety of agricultural products, especially those from mountainous areas. These include seasonal fruits such as Dak Lak avocado, Bac Giang lychee, Cao Phong orange, Moc Chau plum, etc.

In the journey of connecting Vietnamese agricultural products in 2025, the e-commerce platform nongsan.buudien.vn under Vietnam Post Corporation continues to accompany Son La farmers to consume plums, a famous specialty of the Northwest region - through trade promotion activities and online sales.
On the occasion of the first Plum Picking Festival in 2025 in Phieng Khoai commune, Yen Chau district, organized by the People's Committee of Yen Chau district on May 23, Vietnam Post directly participated in the experience activities, connecting product consumption, and at the same time organized livestream sales on the digital platform of Vietnam Post and on the social networking platforms of KOLs and KOCs participating in product promotion. This is an opportunity to promote the specialty of Hau plum - a sweet fruit associated with the land and people of Son La, and at the same time an opportunity for consumers across the country to access fresh, authentic agricultural products, transported quickly through the logistics system of the Post Office.
Along with nongsan.buudien.vn, the e-commerce platform Sendo Farm has also created a map of Vietnamese agricultural products, corresponding to each crop season and committed to output.
Every season, this online supermarket will go to the growing area to evaluate input standards, promote sales such as livestreaming in the garden, and advertise on online platforms. Sendo Farm has organized many connection sessions and livestreams in the garden to support farmers such as consuming cabbage in Son La, taro in Yen Bai...
In recent years, mountainous agricultural products have been effectively consumed on e-commerce platforms. To prepare for the peak agricultural harvest season, on May 24, 2025, at the Lai Chau Provincial Convention Center, the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy (Ministry of Industry and Trade) coordinated with the Lai Chau Provincial People's Committee to organize a series of events "Promoting regional linkages in e-commerce development: Enhancing products in the Northern Midlands and Mountains". The event attracted the participation of more than 100 cooperatives, business households and typical production units from the region, along with more than 300 delegates from enterprises, cooperatives, business households and trade promotion organizations.
The conference “Promoting regional linkage in e-commerce development - Enhancing products in the Northern Midlands and Mountains” was held with an important and consistent goal: Connecting resources - Expanding markets - Changing development methods for regions with great potential. The conference aims to concretize the strategic orientations of the Party and State on developing regional linkage in e-commerce, through a series of diverse activities: Training, Seminars, Signing Memorandums of Understanding on cooperation... thereby creating an e-commerce ecosystem associated with local practices, where all parties look in the same direction, act together to open up new development opportunities for the Northern Midlands and Mountains region.
Ms. Le Hoang Oanh, Director of the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy, emphasized: “Digital transformation is no longer an option but has become an inevitable requirement. E-commerce is one of the key pillars to promote comprehensive digital transformation in localities, especially in disadvantaged areas such as the Northern Midlands and Mountains.”
Regional connectivity: Solution to promote e-commerce
One of the highlights of the event was the signing ceremony of a memorandum of understanding between the Center for E-commerce and Digital Technology Development (eComDX) and e-commerce platform businesses such as Shopee, TikTok Vietnam and representatives of the Department of Industry and Trade of the provinces in the Northern Midlands and Mountains. The goal of this cooperation is to support the implementation of digital skills training activities, develop e-commerce infrastructure and promote the promotion and consumption of local products on digital platforms.
In addition, Vietnam Post has signed a Memorandum of Understanding to support e-commerce applications between the Departments of Industry and Trade of Lai Chau, Dien Bien, Thai Nguyen provinces and businesses in the Northern midlands and mountainous areas. The signing is a testament to the commitment to accompany and closely cooperate between state management agencies, businesses and localities in promoting strong and sustainable e-commerce development in the Northern midlands and mountainous areas.
Accordingly, Vietnam Post will accompany enterprises, cooperatives, and business households in the Northern Midlands and Mountains to perfect the process of transportation, delivery, and order completion for e-commerce, gradually expanding to inter-regional levels to promote domestic e-commerce activities and towards implementing cross-border e-commerce as well as many other specific activities...
The event also organizes seminars and conferences with the participation of experts in the fields of e-commerce and digital technology; exhibits digital technology models and regional products with 50 booths; organizes Mega Livestream sessions directly through the TikTok Shop platform.
For e-commerce to develop sustainably in mountainous areas, improving people's digital skills is a key factor. Within the framework of the event, training and practice activities for cooperatives, business households, and young startups were organized. Livestream sessions promoting highland products, connecting directly with consumers across the country through digital platforms have helped people access and become familiar with digital tools, thereby improving business capacity and expanding product consumption markets.
With the support of e-commerce platforms and promotion policies from management agencies, mountainous agricultural products such as Shan Tuyet tea, Seng Cu rice, mint honey, precious medicinal herbs, brocade products, traditional handicrafts, etc. have had the opportunity to access a larger market. E-commerce not only helps promote products but also creates conditions for consumers to better understand the origin, production process and cultural value of each product, thereby enhancing value and competitiveness in the market.
E-commerce is opening up great opportunities for mountainous agricultural products, but for sustainable development, there needs to be close coordination between management agencies, businesses and people. Building technological infrastructure, training human resources, developing supply chains and ensuring product quality are important factors for e-commerce to truly become a driving force for the mountainous economic development to be strong and sustainable in the coming time. |
