Sweden presents Vietnam with never-before-released documentary about the April 30, 1975 victory

"Victory Vietnam" captures the vibrant atmosphere in the Swedish capital Stockholm on the day Saigon was liberated, marking the end of the war in Vietnam.

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Embassy of Sweden in Vietnam held a ceremony to present the documentary film “ Victory Vietnam” by Swedish director Bo Öhlén. The film will be kept at the Vietnam Film Institute.

" Victory Vietnam" captures the vibrant atmosphere in Stockholm on the day Saigon was liberated, marking the end of the war in Vietnam.

The film shows Swedish people celebrating Vietnam's victory, singing peace songs and showing deep solidarity with the Vietnamese people.

In addition to the marching scenes and emotional speeches, the film also documents the political and material support from the international solidarity movement.

According to Swedish Ambassador to Vietnam Johan Ndisi, "this documentary demonstrates the deep friendship between Sweden and Vietnam, reminding us that at that difficult time, people around the world, including Sweden, stood up to support Vietnam."

“Through the film, we not only see the courage and resilience of the Vietnamese people, but also recognize the human values ​​of peace and solidarity. I hope the film will continue to inspire future generations to always remember the lessons of the past and build a future based on respect and cooperation,” he added.

Mr. Ta Quang Dong, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said that " Victory Vietnam" is a documentary that truly recreates the support of the Swedish people for Vietnam during this special historical period.

Meanwhile, Ms. Le Thi Ha, Director of the Vietnam Film Institute, shared: "The film is not only a valuable historical document but also a clear symbol of international solidarity and the common values ​​that we all strive for."

Attending the ceremony online, director Bo Öhlén shared about the process of making the film: “When making ' Victory Vietnam ,' I not only wanted to record the historical events of April 30, 1975, but also wanted to convey the strong emotions and spirit of solidarity in Sweden. This is my heartfelt gratitude to the Vietnamese people and their struggle for independence."

Immediately after the award ceremony, the film was premiered at the Vietnam Film Institute./.
