
The Vietnamese Muay team participated in the tournament with 24 fighters competing in many events. In addition to competing in the U23 youth group, the Vietnamese Muay team also participated in events for the world championship group. Some notable faces in this tournament are: Huynh Hai Dang, Pham Thanh Ngoc, Nguyen Manh Duc, Tran Thi Anh Tuyet, Han Thi Thuy, Cao Thi Thanh Mau... Especially the presence of world champion Huynh Ha Huu Hieu.
The Vietnamese Muay team concluded the World Championship competition program with a total achievement of 4 gold medals, 6 silver medals, 4 bronze medals and ranked 5th overall. Notably, the Hanoi Muay team with 7 athletes won 2 gold medals, 2 silver medals in the fighting event and MaiMuay contributed to the overall achievement of the team.
The independent athletes ranked first with a total of 17 gold medals, 2 silver medals, and 17 bronze medals. The Ukrainian team ranked second and the Philippines ranked third. Notably, the Muay Thai team only achieved modest results of 1 gold medal, 2 silver medals, and 2 bronze medals in the tournament.
Head coach of the Vietnam Muay team Duong Ngoc Hai shared that after the end of the World Championship, the players of the Vietnam Muay team will return home to continue their professional training. Some key players will undergo training in Thailand to prepare for the 2025 Asian Championship held in Vietnam in June 2025. The 2025 World Championship is an opportunity for the coaching staff to test the athletes' abilities after the training process and continue to select suitable training plans. Through the tournament, the athletes will improve their experience, competition skills, and demonstrate their class in order to achieve the best results at the largest arena in the region at the end of this year - the 33rd SEA Games in Thailand.
The 2025 Asian Muay Thai Championship will take place for the first time in Thai Nguyen (Vietnam). The program will be held from June 20 to 26 and the tournament will include competition groups for the championship and U23 youth championship. At the 2025 Asian Championship, the organizing committee will compete in 13 men's weight classes and 11 women's weight classes for the championship. The list of fighters of the host Vietnamese Muay Thai team participating in the 2025 Asian Championship will be decided by the coaching staff after the 2025 World Championship.
