Regarding the project, Mr. Le Trung Thanh, Director of the Department of Science, Technology, Environment and Construction Materials, said that at the 8th Session, the 15th National Assembly passed a Resolution on the investment policy of the North-South high-speed railway project. This is an unprecedented project, the first time it has been implemented in Vietnam.

With an exceptionally large scale and investment resources, the North-South high-speed railway project has complex technical and technological standards. The application of modern technology and techniques, integrating many specialties, plays an important role in implementing this project, the Director of the Department of Science, Technology, Environment and Construction Materials emphasized.

Mr. Edric Tan, Regional Sales Director for Southeast Asia - E-commerce and Traffic Safety (3M Group) shared that 3M Group is a corporation with extensive experience in the field of science and innovation in the United States, especially with a foundation in standard, high-tech material solutions according to international standards in Vietnam.

Currently, 3M Group is implementing traffic safety and infrastructure solutions for urban railway projects in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, as well as similar items at Tan Son Nhat Airport's T3 terminal... In Asia, the group has also constructed many items in railway projects in China and Thailand.

With its existing experience, for the North-South high-speed railway project, 3M Group proposes to coordinate with the Vietnamese Ministry of Construction in integrating material solutions, standards and high technology according to international standards in the phase of establishing, implementing and supervising technical standards, safety and quality of infrastructure works.

Accordingly, 3M Group provides traffic safety and infrastructure solutions for high-speed railways to improve the recognition, durability, safety and operational efficiency of the project such as reflective and smart identification materials including traffic signs, lane markings, and guidance systems at stations according to international standards. Fireproof solutions, soundproofing materials, and shock absorbers protect passengers and infrastructure in high-speed environments and harsh climates. Or vibration reduction and smart maintenance technology helps increase the life and stability of railway and station structures.

In addition, 3M Group will cooperate in the field of training and technical capacity transfer to improve the capacity of Vietnamese engineers, managers and contractors, such as organizing training courses and technical seminars on safety, smart materials, and railway transport standardization. At the same time, propose a pilot program to apply 3M solutions at a railway station or test route directed by the Ministry of Construction.

On the side of the Ministry of Construction , the representative of the Department of Science, Technology, Environment and Construction Materials highly appreciated the interest and support for Vietnam in training human resources, upgrading railway infrastructure in particular, and the transport infrastructure system in general of 3M Group. At the same time, he hoped that this group would continue to pay attention and share experiences in construction, maintenance and development of high-speed railway industry, expanding cooperation opportunities to develop railway projects in Vietnam.

Representatives of the Vietnam Railway Authority and the Railway Project Management Board (Ministry of Construction) also commented that the solutions proposed by 3M Group are very practical and will promote the goals of sustainable development and green infrastructure as committed by the Vietnamese Government.

In the coming time, 3M Group proposes to accompany Vietnam in implementing the Net-Zero 2050 commitment and developing environmentally friendly infrastructure. Accordingly, it will pilot and integrate lightweight, high-strength, low-emission materials for railway infrastructure through lessons and international best practices on advanced technology from projects implemented in Japan, the EU, and South Korea on high-speed railways and smart cities.

At the meeting, the parties agreed to directly survey the application of these solutions at the 3M Corporation's Science, Technology and Engineering Center located in Hanoi in the near future.
