Gold shop goes bankrupt, chaos in the countryside

According to Ms. LTT, an angry creditor, the gold shop borrowed money from people by mobilizing capital. Although the interest rate was not high, only 0.9%/month, because the gold shop owner was a famous and long-standing person in the locality, many people trusted him and lent him money. Ms. LTT's family members also pooled together to lend the gold shop about 2 billion VND. Not long ago, the gold shop owner declared that he was unable to pay his debts, the creditor had the right to file a lawsuit, and the gold shop owner even prepared a petition (!?).

A young disabled lottery ticket seller tearfully said that he had worked hard to save up 9 million VND to lend to a gold shop to earn a little interest. Now that they have declared bankruptcy, he doesn't know how to get back the money he has worked hard to save.

Many creditors expressed their frustration

It is not known exactly how much Xuan Hoa gold shop owes the people of Chau Thanh town and neighboring areas, but according to the angry people who gathered in front of the gold shop to demand debt, this number could be up to several hundred billion VND.

Speaking by phone on the morning of July 14, Mr. Le Ngoc An - Chairman of Chau Thanh District People's Committee said that as soon as information about Xuan Hoa gold shop going bankrupt was received, the district directed the relevant agencies and town government to closely monitor the situation. Currently, many people have filed a lawsuit against the owner of Xuan Hoa gold shop at the District People's Court.
