Currently, the province is managing the records of more than 33,000 NCCs, of which nearly 3,500 NCCs and their relatives are receiving monthly allowances.
Mr. Nguyen Van Giang, Deputy Director of the Department of Home Affairs, said: Identifying that taking care of people with meritorious services is an important task, in recent years, we have advised the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, and Provincial People's Committee to focus on mobilizing resources to synchronously implement preferential policies of the State such as: regular allowances, health care, housing support, health insurance cards... thereby taking care of and improving the material and spiritual life of people with meritorious services.
In order to help the elderly gradually stabilize and improve their lives, all levels and sectors in the province have always seriously and promptly implemented the prescribed policies and regimes. Every month, the functional sector has paid subsidies to nearly 3,500 elderly people and their relatives with a total amount of over 10 billion VND. From 2021 to present, the whole province has had 4,878 elderly people and their relatives receiving health care; nearly 30,000 elderly people and their relatives have been granted health insurance cards.

On holidays, Tet, and War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27), the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Provincial Fatherland Front Committee all organize working delegations to visit and encourage war invalids and martyrs' relatives. Thousands of gifts fromthe President , the province, district, and organizations and enterprises are delivered directly to policy families. From 2021 to present, the functional sector has received and delivered gifts from the President to more than 43,000 war invalids and their families; organized visits and presented gifts to nearly 66,000 war invalids and their relatives.
Ms. Hoang Thi Thuy, Vice Chairwoman of Loc Binh District People's Committee shared: Loc Binh District currently has 621 beneficiaries and policy families. In addition to coordinating health care, visiting, and giving gifts, we also focus on improving living conditions for beneficiaries through programs to support the construction and repair of houses, and the issuance of health insurance cards. Up to now, 100% of beneficiaries and beneficiaries' families have a standard of living equal to or higher than the average standard of living of the community where they live.
At the same time, all levels and sectors have paid attention to and implemented policies for NCC through many meaningful programs and activities such as: organizing NCC meetings with Party and State leaders; revisiting old battlefields; visiting martyrs' cemeteries; contributing to helping thousands of NCC households grow, sow, and harvest agricultural products...
These practical activities demonstrate the affection and gratitude of cadres, party members and people towards the NCC in the border area, contributing to improving the material and spiritual life of the NCC and their families. Up to now, 99.99% of NCC households in the province have an average or higher standard of living.
In the coming time, all levels and functional branches will continue to closely coordinate with relevant agencies and units to effectively implement new programs and policies of the central and provincial levels; review and update the list of beneficiaries to ensure that no policy beneficiaries are left out. At the same time, promote and raise public awareness, mobilize the participation of the whole society in caring for policy families and beneficiaries, continuing the fine tradition of "When drinking water, remember its source" of the Vietnamese people.
