Continue to promote the role of the elderly in participating in building the grassroots political system

Dong Da District Elderly Association has just solemnly held a conference to honor outstanding elderly people participating in building the grassroots political system, period 2019 - 2024.

Attending the event were Mr. Pham Huy Giap, Permanent Vice President of the Hanoi Elderly Association; Nguyen Thanh Tung, Member of the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the District People's Committee; Nguyen Thi Hong Ngoc, Deputy Head of the District Party Committee's Propaganda Department; representatives of leaders of relevant Departments, Offices, branches and units; Chairmen and Vice Chairmen of the Elderly Association of wards in the area.

Mr. Pham Huy Giap awarded Certificates of Merit from the Hanoi Association of the Elderly to outstanding individuals participating in building the grassroots political system of Dong Da district, period 2019 - 2024.

In recent times, the elderly in Dong Da district have upheld their sense of responsibility, promoted their exemplary role, and mobilized their children, grandchildren in their families, clans and people to seriously implement the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws, the district's regulations and local conventions; and well organized the tasks of the Association of the Elderly according to the Charter of the Vietnam Association of the Elderly.

In addition, the NCT also actively participates in reconciling internal conflicts among the people, contributing to maintaining political security, social order and safety, further consolidating trust in the leadership of the Party and the State, enhancing unity and consensus among the people, creating motivation to contribute to the successful implementation of political tasks, socio -economic development, national defense and security, and building a comprehensively developed district. Actively participate in voter contact conferences, conferences of the Front, elections of National Assembly deputies and People's Councils at all levels; contribute opinions to legal documents, policies and resolutions of the Party, policies of the State, Hanoi city, districts and wards. Effectively respond to the campaign "All people unite to build a cultural life in residential areas", build "Elegant and civilized Hanoians", the emulation movement "Join hands to build a civilized urban area"; act as the core to participate in People's Representative Conferences, national great unity festivals in residential areas; contribute constructive opinions to cadres and party members, reflect the people's aspirations frankly and honestly; participate in implementing democratic regulations and reconciliation at the grassroots level; inspect, supervise, and resolve complaints about the implementation of regimes and policies related to the elderly...

Deeply aware of Uncle Ho's teaching "The elderly are the invaluable treasure of the State", cadres and members of the elderly association have actively responded to the movement of the elderly participating in building the grassroots political system, creating a widespread impact, which has been recognized and highly appreciated by the Party Committee, government, Fatherland Front, organizations and people. In the past 5 years, the whole district has 6,057 elderly people holding the positions of Party cell secretaries and deputy secretaries; heads and deputy heads of villages, residential areas, and residential groups; heads of the Fatherland Front's work committee; heads of mass organizations; hundreds of elderly people participating in people's security groups and grassroots mediation groups.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Pham Huy Giap and Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tung acknowledged the contributions of the Associations at all levels in the district who have actively participated in building the political system in recent years. They requested the Association of the Elderly to continue advising the Party Committees and authorities at all levels to thoroughly grasp, deploy and effectively implement the Party's policies and regulations, the State's and the city's laws and policies on the Association of the Elderly and the work of the elderly. Innovate the content and methods of operation, diversify the forms of gathering members, improve the quality of life, perform well the tasks of protecting, caring for and promoting the role of the elderly, caring for and helping the elderly in difficult circumstances. Proactively advise and propose to the Party Committees and authorities; correctly identify the focus and key points of the Association's work in accordance with the actual conditions in the locality.

At the Conference, 132 individuals with outstanding achievements in the movement of the elderly participating in building the grassroots political system, period 2019 - 2024 were awarded by the City Elderly Association, Chairman of the District People's Committee, District Elderly Association, and District Education Promotion Association.
