On October 20, An Bien Commune Police, An Giang Province, said that An Bien Commune authorities are urgently searching for a 4-month-old boy suspected of falling into the Xeo Ro canal, in Hamlet 2, An Bien Commune.
According to initial information, at around 6:30 a.m. the same day, Ms. Le Thi Kieu (26 years old, residing in Hamlet 2, An Bien Commune) woke up and discovered that her 4-month-old son was missing.
According to observations, Ms. Kieu's family's house is a stilt house built along the Xeo Ro canal, so many people suspect that the boy may have fallen into the canal.
Upon receiving the news, An Bien Commune Police coordinated with the Fire Prevention and Rescue Team of U Minh Thuong area, An Giang province to mobilize divers and specialized vehicles to urgently carry out the search.

Lieutenant Colonel Le Ngoc Can, Deputy Chief of An Bien Commune Police, said the search was difficult because the incident occurred at a river intersection, with strong currents, and the child was too young. Local authorities were present at the scene to direct and encourage the family.
It is known that Ms. Kieu’s family has 5 children, living in difficult circumstances, with a makeshift house. She sells lottery tickets, her husband works at sea. The missing child is the youngest child in the family.
Currently, the cause of the incident is being verified by the An Bien commune government and relevant agencies, searching for the boy on the Xeo Ro canal.
