Previously, at around 4:00 p.m. on October 19, the Vietnam Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center (Vietnam MRCC) received information that on the fishing boat QNA 91892 Ts, crew member Phan Van Tinh (born in 1975), residing in Nui Thanh commune, Da Nang city, had a serious work accident, was in a deep coma, and was at risk of losing his life.
At this time, the QNA 91892 Ts ship was located about 323 nautical miles southeast of Da Nang, about 150 nautical miles south of the Paracel Islands. The captain of the QNA 91892 Ts ship requested medical assistance and to bring the injured crew member to the mainland for emergency treatment.
Upon receiving the information, the Vietnam Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center dispatched the SAR 631 ship in Da Nang to urgently go to sea to rescue. After approaching the QNA 91892 Ts ship, the rescue team deployed professional measures, provided first aid on the spot for the patient and took him to the SAR 631 ship for intensive medical care. At the same time, the patient was urgently transported to the mainland for treatment.
At 8:00 p.m. on October 20, 2025, the victim was safely brought back to Quy Nhon by SAR 631 and handed over to the Quy Nhon Port Border Guard Station according to regulations. Thanks to timely first aid, the patient initially overcame the critical condition and his life was saved.
