Vietnam is holding a selection round to find three representatives to attend the final round of the World Graphic Design Championship in the US.
On March 17, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (Central Committee) held the opening ceremony of the ACP World Championship 2025.
The World Graphic Design Championship is an annual competition held since 2013 to find the top design professionals using Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Indesign software.
The competition is for students aged 13 to 22 on a global scale, attracting hundreds of thousands of contestants from nearly 70 countries and territories each year.
Immediately after the opening ceremony, the National Qualifiers for the 8th season of the ACP World Championship in Vietnam took place simultaneously in Hanoi, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City.
This round gathered 253 best candidates, selected from more than 60 teams from high schools, colleges, universities and academies across the country.
The year 2025 recorded a 10% increase in the number of candidates and teams compared to the previous year, especially a significant increase in the group of candidates at intermediate and college levels, accounting for nearly 60% of the total number of candidates.
Meanwhile, high school students accounted for 23%. According to the Central Youth Union, this reflects the growing interest of schools in career orientation and nurturing graphic design skills for young people.
Mr. Tran Huu, Director of the Center for Science, Technology and Young Talent Development (Central Youth Union), said the contest is a practical activity in response to Resolution 57 on science and technology development, innovation and digital transformation.
This year, the competition is divided into three groups. The five best contestants from each group will enter the National Finals to compete for three spots to represent Vietnam at the World Finals in Orlando, USA.
At the World Finals, contestants have the opportunity to compete for Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals, with corresponding prizes of $8,000, $4,000, and $2,000, respectively.
In addition, the National Champions will be awarded the "Creative Youth" Badge by the Central Youth Union.
