Second victim's body found in drowning of 4 students

According to initial information, at around 10am on May 3rd, while fishing in the sea about 4 nautical miles from Cua Dai (Co Luy), Mr. Nguyen Van Sam, a fisherman in Tinh Ky commune (Quang Ngai city), discovered a body drifting at sea. Mr. Sam immediately reported the news to the provincial Border Guard.

Rescue workers pulled the victim's body onto the ship.

Immediately after receiving the information, the Border Guard force coordinated with relevant units to quickly approach the scene and bring the body to shore. Through verification, the victim was identified as Le Minh Khang (16 years old), residing in Hamlet 6, Duc Nhuan Commune (Mo Duc). Khang was one of three students who went missing on the afternoon of May 1 while swimming at Tan Dinh Beach, Thang Loi Commune.

Earlier, in the early morning of the same day, rescuers found the body of Pham Anh Tan (16 years old), residing in Hamlet 1, Duc Chanh Commune. The victim was discovered about 200m south of the accident site. Tan was a victim who drowned in the sea area of Duc Chanh Commune.

Authorities have completed the necessary procedures and handed over the bodies of the two victims to their families for funeral arrangements.

Rescuers are trying to find the remaining victims.

Currently, the search for the remaining two victims is still being actively carried out by authorities, with the support of local people.

Some volunteers will use Flycam to support search operations.

As reported by Quang Ngai Newspaper, on the afternoon of May 1, in Mo Duc district, two tragic drowning incidents occurred, causing 4 students to be swept away by waves and go missing. Immediately after the incident, local authorities and functional forces mobilized maximum means and human resources to search for the victims.
