The vibrant Ha Long Carnival 2025: "Connecting Heritage - Pioneering and Shining Brightly"

On the evening of May 1st, the Ha Long Carnival 2025, themed “Connecting Heritage – Pioneering and Shining,” took place vibrantly at Sun Carnival Square in Ha Long City. This event kicked off a series of activities and tourism products for the peak summer tourism season of 2025, promoting the outstanding potential and strengths of Ha Long City and Quang Ninh province; it was also a key cultural activity celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Southern Vietnam and National Reunification on April 30th (1975-2025).

Attending the program from the Central Government were: Comrade Nguyen Xuan Thang, Member of the Political Bureau, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Political Academy, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council; and Comrade Vu Hong Thanh, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly. Representatives from Quang Ninh province included: Comrade Vu Dai Thang, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Comrade Trinh Thi Minh Thanh, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Comrade Pham Duc An, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; and other members of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Council, the Provincial People's Committee, the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, and the Provincial National Assembly Delegation. Also attending the program were international delegates from Laos, China, and South Korea, along with 20,000 local people and tourists.

The Ha Long Carnival 2025 consists of four parts: an art program; a grand Ha Long Carnival dance party with a parade of floats combined with artistic performances and costumes in the style of carnival; a DJ performance with a large-scale stage design, bringing together numerous actors, artists, and locals and tourists to immerse themselves in a vibrant electronic music party; and a high-altitude artistic fireworks display.

The Ha Long Carnival 2025 art program consists of three chapters: Ha Long Heritage - A Brilliant Wonder; Quang Ninh - Heritage Within Heritage; and Integration Across Five Continents - Pioneering and Shining, with the participation of nearly 1,000 actors, singers, musicians, artisans from the Northeast region; amateur performers, and art troupes from Vietnam and abroad... A large stage on the beachfront, modern projection technology, combined with sound, light, 3D mapping effects and live performances create an elaborate and impressive performance space.

The art program at the Ha Long Carnival 2025 is elaborately and spectacularly staged.

The three main chapters of Carnaval 2025 respectively depict the journey of Quang Ninh, from a legendary land and vibrant cultural heritage to a symbol of global integration. Performances such as "Heritage Circle," "Legend of Ha Long," "Sacred Yen Tu," and "Footprints of the Miners" take the audience from historical snapshots to the depth of local culture.

A special highlight of the program is the performance of UNESCO-recognized intangible cultural heritage such as: Then Tay Binh Lieu, Quan Ho Bac Ninh, Hue Royal Court Music, Central Highlands Gong Music, Southern Vietnamese Traditional Music, and Hat Van "Co Doi Thuong Ngan"... which are recreated in a contemporary artistic style. These art forms not only retain their essence but are also modernized through contemporary arrangements, stage design, and visual interaction, making them more accessible and engaging for young audiences and international tourists.

Nearly 1,000 actors and artists participated in the performance, creating a spectacular scale for the show.

The connection of national spirit within the open space of a world natural wonder creates a unique whole, affirming that Ha Long - Quang Ninh not only preserves heritage but also spreads and elevates the value of Vietnamese culture.

The program concluded with the segment "Integrating with Five Continents - Pioneering and Shining," bearing a strong international imprint with the participation of foreign art troupes, young singer Quang Hung Master D, and modern EDM performances, high-altitude fireworks, and artistic paragliding. The highlight was the parade of five artistic floats, representing cultural, religious, entertainment, and tourism symbols of Ha Long - Quang Ninh, clearly conveying the message of integration, dynamism, and breakthrough.

The Ha Long Carnival 2025, now in its 18th year, continues to affirm its role as a distinctive cultural and tourism product of Quang Ninh province. With the overarching message "Connecting Heritage - Pioneering and Shining," the event contributes to enriching the cultural identity of the Northeast region and enhancing the position of Ha Long - Quang Ninh tourism on the international map.
