Coming to see off the officers and soldiers at Tan Son Nhat airport were Vice Chairwoman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Tran Thi Dieu Thuy and representatives of Ho Chi Minh City Command.
At the airport, soldiers and civilians exchanged warm feelings and military-civilian affection while waiting to check in for their flight.
Female soldier Pham Thi Anh, a member of the Vietnam peacekeeping force, took a short photo with her family before boarding the plane to return to her unit.
"It is a great pride and honor to be on duty at the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification. This will be one of the most memorable memories of my life," said soldier Pham Thi Anh.
