Body found suspected to be that of tractor-trailer driver swept away by floodwaters in Quang Tri

After 5 days of searching, at about 5:10 p.m. on November 22, the 0-dong search and rescue canoe team in Quang Tri, in coordination with functional forces, found the body of the tractor-trailer driver swept away by floodwaters at the A Rong Tren spillway area (La Lay intersection, the road to La Lay International Border Gate).

The victim's body was discovered at Km24, in La Lay commune (formerly Ta Long commune), near the hydroelectric dam on the Dakrong river and many kilometers away from the accident site. The search team is coordinating with La Lay commune police to bring the body to shore and assist the family in identifying the body to carry out the next procedures.

The scene discovered a body suspected to be the body of the truck driver.

As reported by CAND Newspaper, at around 12:00 on November 17, 2025, the tractor trailer with license plate 75H-00713 was swept away by floodwaters while passing through the A Rong Tren culvert. The driver managed to climb onto the side of the truck and jump into the water to try to swim to shore, but the flood was so strong that the victim quickly disappeared after only about 5-10 minutes, in front of the witnesses.

Currently, the authorities are completing the processing steps according to regulations.
