False rumors cause egg prices to plummet

The Vietnam Poultry Association has just sent an official dispatch to the Ministries of Public Security, Agriculture and Environment, Industry and Trade, Science and Technology and press agencies about false information about chicken eggs.

The leader of the Vietnam Poultry Association said that recently, on a number of social networking sites, false information about the production of fake chicken eggs in our country has appeared and spread, causing confusion and anxiety among consumers and negatively affecting the production and business of domestic poultry eggs.

According to the Vietnam Poultry Association, the purchase price of chicken eggs at the farm, which was lower than the cost price, at 1,400 - 1,500 VND/egg, has now dropped to only 1,200 - 1,300 VND/egg.

Not only that, production and business establishments are facing many difficulties in selling their products. Many businesses and households raising egg-laying chickens are suffering heavy losses and are at risk of bankruptcy.

The Vietnam Poultry Association affirms that up to now, there is no scientific evidence in the world that it is possible to produce fake eggs that have the same characteristics as natural chicken eggs.

In fact, in our country, in the past and present, there have been no fake eggs circulating on the market. Therefore, the information spread on social networks about the production of fake chicken eggs in the country is completely fabricated.

Faced with this situation, the Vietnam Poultry Association recommends that the authorities investigate, verify and strictly handle those who have spread false information about chicken eggs, not only causing confusion and anxiety for consumers but also causing great damage to the livestock industry.
