(HBĐT) - Thanks to the diverse and multifaceted support of policy credit, poor households, near-poor households, and other policy beneficiaries in the province have access to capital to develop their economy , increase their income, and improve their quality of life.

Households in Thong Nhat area, Hang Tram town (Yen Thuy district) are eligible for policy loans to restore production after the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Like many households in the remote Chi Dao commune (Lac Son district), Bui Thi Son's family in Kho hamlet previously faced many difficulties regarding access to water for daily use. Lacking the funds to drill a well, her family had to pipe water from the mountains. However, the pipeline was quite long, leading to frequent water outages due to livestock trampling and breaking the pipes. During the rainy season, the pipeline would be washed away, significantly impacting the family's daily life. In 2022, thanks to a 12 million VND loan from the Social Policy Bank (NHCSXH) under the rural clean water and sanitation loan program, combined with the family's savings, Ms. Son's family drilled a well and built a water storage tank.
Ms. Son shared: "Since receiving a loan from the Social Policy Bank, our family has had a stable water source for daily life and livestock farming. Previously, our family had received loans from the Social Policy Bank for livestock farming and economic development. This is a low-interest loan with quick application procedures, so it is very meaningful for our family."
It is known that, besides Ms. Son's family, there are currently over 400 households in Chi Dao commune using policy loans to develop their economy and improve their quality of life. According to Mr. Dinh Cong Thai, Chairman of the People's Committee of Chi Dao commune, the diverse implementation of credit programs by the Social Policy Bank has basically met the borrowing needs of poor households and policy beneficiaries. However, it is necessary to continue to pay attention to and increase the loan amount for some programs, such as the Rural Water Supply and Sanitation program, to better suit the actual needs of the people.
Besides promoting sustainable poverty reduction loan programs, rural sanitation and environmental protection loans, and several new credit programs, the provincial branch of the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies (VBSP) has recently focused on loans for job creation. This program has a high demand for loans, especially from households living in towns and communes that have achieved the new rural development goals. In fact, since the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, thousands of households in the province have received loans to create jobs, restore production, and develop their economy effectively, such as the family of Mr. Le Quoc Khanh, Thong Nhat area, Hang Tram town (Yen Thuy).
For many years, Mr. Khanh's family has been developing their economy by growing pomelos, combined with raising wild pigs and bees for honey. However, due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, the consumption of agricultural products has become difficult, and the family's income has decreased. Mr. Khanh said: "With the decrease in income, the family faced difficulties in securing capital to invest in the next pomelo crop. Therefore, the employment creation loan from the Social Policy Bank was very timely, helping the family overcome this difficult time and continue to develop the economy, bringing stable income."
Comrade Nguyen Minh Hung, Director of the Provincial Branch of the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies (VBSP), stated: From the beginning of the year until now, the entire branch has promptly disbursed policy funds to the correct beneficiaries. Currently, the total outstanding policy loan balance in the province is over 4,556.5 billion VND, with 18 credit programs and a total of 99,876 households with outstanding loans. Through policy funds, over 21,800 poor households and other policy beneficiaries have received loans to invest in production and business development, improving their lives. This includes 3,629 poor households, 2,777 near-poor households, and 1,484 newly-escaped-poverty households. Policy funds have helped create, maintain, and expand jobs for 3,416 workers; and thousands of clean water and sanitation projects for rural households have been built. This has significantly contributed to ensuring social security in the province.
