(HBĐT) - The diverse and multi-dimensional support of policy credit (TDCS) has helped poor households, near-poor households and other policy beneficiaries in the province have capital to develop the economy , increase income and improve the quality of life.

Households in Thong Nhat area, Hang Tram town (Yen Thuy) are entitled to policy loans to restore production after the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic.
Like many households in the remote commune of Chi Dao (Lac Son), in the past, Ms. Bui Thi Son's family in Kho hamlet had many difficulties with water for daily life. Because they did not have money to drill a well, her family had to bring water from the mountains for use. However, the pipeline was quite far away, so water was often lost due to cattle trampling and breaking the pipeline. During the rainy season, the pipeline was washed away, greatly affecting the family's life. In 2022, thanks to a loan of 12 million VND from the Bank for Social Policies (VBSP) from the rural clean water and environmental sanitation (NS&VSMTNT) loan program, combined with the family's savings, Ms. Son's family drilled a well and built a water tank.
Ms. Son shared: "Since receiving a loan from the Social Policy Bank, my family has had a stable water source for daily life and livestock farming. Previously, my family received a loan from the Social Policy Bank for livestock farming and economic development. This is a source of capital with low interest rates and quick loan procedures, so it is very meaningful to my family."
It is known that in addition to Ms. Son's family, there are currently over 400 households in Chi Dao commune using policy capital to develop the economy and improve the quality of life. According to Mr. Dinh Cong Thai, Chairman of the People's Committee of Chi Dao commune, the implementation of diverse credit programs of the Social Policy Bank has basically met the borrowing needs of poor households and policy beneficiaries. However, it is necessary to continue to pay attention and increase the lending level of some programs, such as NS&VSMTNT, to better suit the actual needs of the people.
In addition to promoting sustainable poverty reduction lending programs, NS&VSMTNT lending and a number of new credit programs, in recent times, the provincial branch of the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies has focused on lending to create jobs. This is a program with a large demand for loans, especially for households living in urban areas and communes that have reached the new rural finish line. In fact, since the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic, thousands of households in the province have received loans to create jobs to restore production and develop the economy effectively, such as the family of Mr. Le Quoc Khanh, Thong Nhat area, Hang Tram town (Yen Thuy).
Mr. Khanh's family has developed their economy for many years by growing grapefruit, raising wild pigs and bees for honey. However, due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, the consumption of agricultural products has been difficult, and the family's income has decreased. Mr. Khanh said: "With the decrease in income, the family has difficulty in finding capital to invest in the next grapefruit crop. Therefore, the job creation capital that the Social Policy Bank has lent is very timely, helping the family overcome difficult times, continue to develop the economy and bring in a stable income."
Comrade Nguyen Minh Hung, Director of the Provincial Branch of the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies, said: Since the beginning of the year, the entire branch has promptly disbursed policy capital to the right beneficiaries. Currently, the total outstanding loan balance of TDCS in the province has reached over VND 4,556.5 billion, with 18 credit programs, a total of 99,876 households with outstanding loans. Through policy capital, over 21,800 poor households and other policy beneficiaries have been able to borrow capital to invest in production and business development, serving their lives. Of which, 3,629 poor households, 2,777 near-poor households and 1,484 newly escaped-poverty households have been able to borrow capital. Policy capital has helped create jobs, maintain and expand employment for 3,416 workers; thousands of clean water and sanitation works for households in rural areas have been built. Thereby, making an important contribution to ensuring social security in the province.
