The meeting reviewed and gave opinions on the draft Proposal, Project and Resolution on the arrangement of provincial administrative units. The contents were developed in accordance with the policy of Conclusion No. 130-KL/TW of the Politburo and the Secretariat on the number of provincial administrative units after the arrangement, the names and administrative-political centers of provincial administrative units after the arrangement; the organization of provincial administrative units after the arrangement to operate effectively according to the provisions of the Law on Organization of Local Government (amended).

Promoting the advantages of 03 provinces and cities of the Southeast region, which are provinces and cities with quite good growth rates, especially the economic scale is among the top 10 provinces and cities in the country, where many vibrant economic activities, large-scale investment and production projects converge.

Arrange provincial-level administrative units for Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, Binh Duong province, Ho Chi Minh City to expand the development space of the 3 provinces and cities; after the merger, the new Ho Chi Minh City will carry out a number of key tasks according to the goal of rapid and sustainable development, creating a breakthrough in regional and inter-regional economic development assigned by the Politburo in Resolution No. 24-NQ/TW on developing the Southeast region in accordance with the strategies and plans for socio-economic development of the whole country, ensuring consistency with the national planning, in accordance with the strategy for sustainable development, green growth, and adaptation to climate change. Prioritize the development of high-tech industries and high-quality service industries.
