Dr. Nguyen Thi Minh Phuong, Dean of the Faculty of International Economics , expressed her gratitude to the Singaporean Ambassador for taking the time to visit, talk at the “Vietnam-Singapore Bilateral Relations” seminar and interact with students. She emphasized that the seminar was not only an opportunity for students to directly approach important foreign affairs issues in the Vietnam-Singapore relationship, but also clearly demonstrated the internationalization orientation in the research and training strategy that the faculty is striving to implement.

Sharing with students, Ambassador Jaya Ratnam reviewed the outstanding achievements in the Vietnam-Singapore relationship, especially the Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park (VSIP) model, a symbol of effective and sustainable economic cooperation between the two countries.
The Ambassador said that Vietnam is currently the 30th largest economy in the world, while Singapore still maintains its position as the leading FDI investor in Vietnam. In addition to economic cooperation, the two countries are expanding cooperation in strategic areas such as education , people-to-people exchange, digital transformation and green growth, important pillars shaping the future of bilateral relations and their common role in the ASEAN region.
Emphasizing Singapore's efforts in supporting Vietnam in the fields of humanitarianism and natural disaster response, demonstrating the close friendship between the two countries, Ambassador Jaya Ratnam also informed about the donation of aid goods to help Vietnamese people overcome the consequences of floods, thereby continuing to strengthen the spirit of close cooperation between the two countries, not only in economic aspects but also in sharing responsibility for the regional community.

The exchanges between the Ambassador and students were lively with many questions revolving around educational cooperation opportunities, student exchange programs, solutions to respond to transnational cybercrime and orientations to promote Vietnamese tourism in the new context. The Ambassador took the time to listen and share sincerely, creating motivation for students to study and research.

Present at the discussion, former Vietnamese Ambassador to Singapore Tao Thi Thanh Huong expressed her appreciation for the Singaporean Ambassador taking the time to interact with students during her busy time before the end of her term in Vietnam. She thanked Ambassador Jaya Ratnam for his heartfelt, practical and inspirational sharing, which demonstrated his special affection for the young generation as well as for the Vietnam-Singapore friendship.
Ms. Tao Thi Thanh Huong said that the two sides need to further strengthen cooperation, exchange and internship activities for students of the Academy in the coming time.
The seminar ended in a warm, friendly and inspiring atmosphere. The event not only helped students better understand the dynamic and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Singapore, but also opened up valuable practical connection opportunities in study, research and international integration.
