The International Scientific Conference on the East Sea is the leading regional forum on the East Sea and maritime governance, organized by the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam continuously for the past 17 years.
This conference brought together nearly 50 speakers who are politicians and leading experts from within and outside the country, with the direct and online participation of many prestigious international scholars, officials, diplomatic corps and businesses from many countries around the world.
With the theme “Solidarity in Uncertainty”, the Workshop affirmed the urgent need for a common vision, coordinated action and solidarity in the context of a rapidly changing and increasingly unpredictable regional security environment.
The theme's message is a strong call to overcome competitive thinking and work towards the common interests of respecting international law, ensuring freedom of navigation, resolving disputes by peaceful means, protecting the marine environment and promoting sustainable development in the region.
The main contents of the Workshop will focus on assessing and analyzing the situation in the East Sea and the region in recent times, the involvement and policy adjustments of relevant parties and major countries in the East Sea, discussing the rapid development of emerging technologies and the trend of politicizing marine technology.
The workshop aimed to find specific measures to manage tensions, enhance maritime cooperation, and promote shared responsibility for a peaceful, cooperative, and developing East Sea.
