Business registration situation in July and 7 months of 2024

(MPI) - In July 2024, the whole country had 14.7 thousand newly established enterprises with registered capital of more than 110 trillion VND and registered labor of more than 88.4 thousand employees, down 6.3% in number of enterprises, down 22.8% in registered capital and up 3.3% in number of employees compared to June 2024.

Compared to the same period last year, the number of enterprises increased by 7.3%, the registered capital decreased by 13% and the number of employees increased by 11.9%. The average registered capital of a newly established enterprise in the month reached 7.5 billion VND, down 17.6% compared to the previous month and down 18.9% compared to the same period last year. In addition, the whole country also had more than 6.8 thousand enterprises returning to operation, up 26.2% compared to the previous month and down 0.7% compared to the same period in 2023.

In the first 7 months of 2024, the whole country had more than 95.2 thousand newly registered enterprises with a total registered capital of VND 854.6 trillion and a total registered number of nearly 600.4 thousand employees, an increase of 6.3% in the number of enterprises, an increase of 2.4% in registered capital and an increase of 2.0% in the number of employees compared to the same period last year.

The average registered capital of a newly established enterprise in the first seven months of 2024 reached VND9.0 billion, down 3.6% over the same period in 2023. If including VND919.2 trillion of additional registered capital of more than 27.1 thousand enterprises increasing capital, the total registered capital added to the economy in the first seven months of 2024 was VND1,773.8 trillion, down 9.1% over the same period in 2023.

In addition, the whole country has nearly 44.3 thousand enterprises returning to operation (up 4.7% over the same period in 2023), bringing the total number of newly established and returning enterprises in the first 7 months of 2024 to nearly 139.5 thousand enterprises, up 5.8% over the same period in 2023. On average, there are more than 19.9 thousand newly established and returning enterprises per month.

By economic sector, in the first seven months of 2024, there were 919 newly established enterprises in the agriculture, forestry and fishery sector, down 2.8% over the same period last year; 22.4 thousand enterprises in the industry and construction sector, up 4.8%; 71.9 thousand enterprises in the service sector, up 6.8%.

Also in July 2024, 6,837 enterprises registered to temporarily suspend business for a period of time, up 26.2% compared to the previous month and down 0.7% compared to the same period in 2023; 7,035 enterprises stopped operating pending dissolution procedures, up 30.2% and up 33.8%; 1,730 enterprises completed dissolution procedures, down 22.4% and up 9.4%.

In the first 7 months of 2024, the number of enterprises temporarily suspending business was more than 78 thousand enterprises, an increase of 16.7% over the same period last year; more than 35.5 thousand enterprises suspended operations pending dissolution procedures, a decrease of 1.5%; 11.9 thousand enterprises completed dissolution procedures, an increase of 14.5%. On average, more than 17.9 thousand enterprises withdrew from the market per month./.
