The journey to discover Vietnamese cuisine for visitors will go through three clusters of culinary stalls, which are also three traditional cultural spaces, imbued with the flavors of the North, Central and South. Visiting the cluster of northern culinary stalls, diners will have the opportunity to enjoy a collection of typical delicacies such as Hanoi vermicelli with grilled pork, La Vong grilled fish, squid sausage, crab sausage, Ha Long vermicelli with mantis shrimp, Mong Cai meat, grilled chicken with mac khen, Cao Bang aniseed seeds...

The cluster of central cuisine stalls will bring diners many delicious dishes with strong central flavors, the most prominent of which is the Royal Salt Rice dish, the "royal rice" dish of ancient times.

From rustic ingredients, the ancient "royal chefs" (chefs who cooked for the King) created a unique Hue salted rice dish, famous for its meticulousness in choosing ingredients as well as its distinctive flavor, and since the reign of King Minh Mang, it has been classified as a royal delicacy.

Hue salted rice uses up to 9 different types of salt, the salt plates are arranged in a circle or flower shape, showing the delicate and artistic beauty of Hue culinary culture.

Meanwhile, the cluster of southern culinary stalls will attract diners with rustic dishes bearing the flavors of the Mekong Delta and the Southeast region such as braised duck with coconut water, shrimp salad with water mimosa - rice paper, crispy fried perch and squash salad - shrimp crackers, avocado spring rolls, vermicelli with fish sauce, coconut-fried snails, pepper-grilled snails, steamed mountain snails with lemongrass, dew-dried rice paper mixed with wild vegetables and pork.

Southern cuisine is also attractive with countless snack cakes such as Bac Lieu's rice cake with pork skin, Can Tho's pandan-leaf rice cake, Ben Tre's con sung cake, banh xeo, and banh khot. Saigon's street food also leaves its own mark, with seafood spring rolls, pig offal stew; Can Gio's coastal fishing village delicacies include snail rolls, shrimp salad with kim leaves; Cho Lon's typical cuisine includes four-flavor roasted duck and Dong Khanh duck noodles.

In addition, visitors to the festival not only come to “eat”, but also have the opportunity to immerse themselves in a space filled with a festive atmosphere imbued with the cultural identity of the three regions. Resonating with the culinary space is the “real-life” area of traditional craft villages with the highlight of more than 50 types of folk cakes, a folk game area and performances of traditional art forms in the form of a traveling show.

Mr. Truong Duc Hung, General Director of Saigontourist Group, said that this event is one of the key activities of Saigontourist Group to contribute to promoting the attractiveness and uniqueness of Vietnam's diverse and rich cuisine to domestic tourists as well as friends around the world.

“Through this event, we also hope to promote Ho Chi Minh City as a destination that converges many attractive elements, including cuisine, culinary cultural events and is oriented to become an international event” - Mr. Truong Duc Hung, General Director of Saigontourist Group, said.

Saigontourist Group's 2024 Food and Culture Festival is open to the public from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. every day, continuously from March 28 to 31 at Van Thanh Tourist Area, Binh Thanh District.
