With 45 oil paintings, painter - teacher Nguyen Trung Phan (1960 - 2024) - former Vice Principal of the University of Theater and Cinema, Ho Chi Minh City, takes viewers on a journey of contemplating memories, in the time and breath of the city, which he cherished and created through many stages. That is where he kept the breath of the street: the restless yellow lights, moss on the old tiled roofs, familiar yet deserted street corners. There, small creatures, such as cats, squirrels, or crabs, appear as humorous metaphors of the enduring life, weaving through the heart of the city.

If the spatial theme of Old Street preserves the urban landscape with a deep nostalgia: Waking Street, Sunset Shadow, Dream Street, Sunny Street, Late Night Street, Flower Street, Night Street, Golden Street..., then the theme of Street Creatures touches on the humor, closeness and poetry of street life: Squirrel 1 - 9, Blue Night, Green Electric Pole...
Not only a painter, Nguyen Trung Phan is also a member of the Vietnam Cinema Association. As an art designer, he is behind the artistic space of many cinematographic works such as: Girl on the River, Long Thanh Cam Gia Ca, Hong Ha Nu Si... which have received the Golden Lotus and Golden Kite awards.
The exhibition runs until December 21.
