Seminar on 50 years of Ha Giang Literature and Arts after National Reunification Day

BHG - On the afternoon of April 21, at Yen Bien Luxury Hotel (Ha Giang city), the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department coordinated with the Provincial Literature and Arts Association, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to organize a seminar on 50 years of Ha Giang Literature and Arts after the National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025). Attending on the Central delegation side were Associate Professor, Doctor, Musician Do Hong Quan, Chairman of the National Committee of the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations; leaders of the Vietnam Musicians' Association; Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists; representatives of literature and artists from Tuyen Quang and Phu Tho provinces.

Attending the discussion on the provincial side were comrades: Tran Manh Loi, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission; Vuong Ngoc Ha, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee. Also attending were leaders of departments, branches, armed forces, districts, cities; provincial leaders of all periods and many artists in the province.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vuong Ngoc Ha emphasized: Ha Giang is a mountainous and border province with a particularly important geopolitics , preserving many traditional cultural identities, many heritages, and impressive natural landscapes. Deeply aware of the role of culture and arts in the overall development, the province has paid attention to leading and directing the implementation of many solutions to concretize policies to promote the role of culture and arts. At the same time, it encourages and motivates writers and artists to actively create many valuable works, propagate, motivate, and encourage people to unite, and promote the image of Ha Giang to domestic and international friends.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee affirmed that the team of writers and artists with a sense of responsibility and love for their homeland have created valuable works of literature and art. Thereby, together with the Party Committee and the Government, they propagate and encourage the people to unite and compete in production, develop the economy , preserve identity, and protect the border cultural belt. The seminar is an important event to summarize the theory and practice of Vietnamese literature and art in general, and Ha Giang in particular, after 50 years of National Reunification Day. Through the seminar, important opinions and contributions will be received for the development of Ha Giang's literature and art; suggesting solutions to promote literature and art works, creating an important scientific database in building policies for the development of local literature and art in the era of national development.

At the seminar, delegates shared many contents such as: Literature and art creation on the basis of folk culture; potential and materials for photography creation in Ha Giang; mountainous prose in general and Ha Giang prose in the flow of contemporary literature and art; linking folk music with modern music; developing a team of young writers. At the same time, they proposed a number of solutions for the development of literature and art, including: Improving the professionalism, uniqueness, ethnicity and modernity of literature and art; focusing on building cultural policies suitable for literature and art in the new situation; promoting digital transformation; building a cultural public combined with aesthetic and artistic education for young people.

At the seminar, the following commendation decisions were announced: The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to 4 collectives and 6 individuals with outstanding achievements on the occasion of summarizing the Vietnamese literature and arts after the National Reunification Day in the province; The National Committee of the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations awarded Certificates of Merit to 15 individuals with many contributions to the literature and arts career of Ha Giang province.
