Speaking to review the tradition, Head of the Provincial Elderly Association Representative Board Nguyen Ha Phuong emphasized that the Vietnam Elderly Association, formerly the National Salvation Elderly Association, played an important role in the history of building and defending the nation.

Over the past 30 years, generations of Vietnamese elderly people in general and Quang Tri province elderly people in particular have always firmly believed in the Party, strived and contributed to the cause of the Party and the nation, affirming the bravery and intelligence of Vietnamese elderly people in all areas of life and society.

The province currently has 85,125 elderly members; 100% of elderly people within the legal age range are celebrated with longevity and receive social benefits; 98% of elderly people have health insurance cards; 80% of communes, wards and towns have established and maintained care funds, effectively promoting the role of elderly people at the grassroots level...

For many consecutive years, the Provincial Association of the Elderly has always excellently completed key tasks and regular and ad hoc work programs.

Notably, over the past 10 years, the Provincial Association of the Elderly has been awarded the Excellent Emulation Flag by the Government in 2022; the Provincial People's Committee awarded the Excellent Emulation Flag in 2017, 2021; the Central Committee of the Vietnam Association of the Elderly awarded the Emulation Flag for the leading unit in 2016, 2020, 2024. More than 60 collectives and 325 individuals received Certificates of Merit from the Central Committee of the Vietnam Association of the Elderly and the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; 6,200 individuals were awarded medals, commemorative medals...

At the seminar, delegates, officials and members of the Elderly Association in the area presented their opinions and evaluated the results achieved in the process of implementing the movements "Old age - Bright example", "Eliminating dilapidated houses for poor elderly people", "Bright eyes for the elderly"... at the grassroots level.

At the same time, share and contribute many enthusiastic ideas to mobilize and implement more effectively the work of taking care of the health and spiritual life of the elderly; promote the role of the elderly in building the Party, government and organizations; innovate, create, and gradually keep pace with the current digital transformation to build and consolidate the organization to develop more and more strongly.
