In this solemn and emotional moment, on behalf of the young generation of the Capital, I would like to express my deep gratitude to the glorious Communist Party of Vietnam, great Uncle Ho, and the great sacrifices of previous generations for the peace, independence and freedom of the Vietnamese people”.
Before that, the opening ceremony was an art program to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Capital Liberation Day, recreating historical moments in the resistance war against the French by the army and people of the Capital, the heroic spirit of the Capital Liberation Day and the glorious historical events of the Capital Hanoi on the past 70 years.
Exactly 70 years ago, after 9 years of long and arduous resistance war, the indomitable and brave fighting spirit of our army and people, especially with the victory of the Dien Bien Phu campaign in 1954, the French colonialists were forced to sign the Geneva Agreement on July 21, 1954 on the cessation of hostilities in Vietnam, recognizing the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of the three countries of Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia; and accepting the withdrawal of troops from the North of our country.
On the morning of October 10, 1954, the City Military Commission and military units divided into many large groups to launch a historic march into Hanoi. More than 400,000 people in the capital were excited in the forest of flags and flowers, with extreme joy welcoming the victorious army's return.
At 3 p.m. the same day, the army and people of Hanoi, on behalf of the people of the whole country, held a flag-saluting ceremony and listened to a letter from President Ho Chi Minh: “For the past eight years, the Government had to leave the Capital to fight for national salvation. Although we are far apart, the Government's heart is always close to the people. Today, thanks to the unity of our army and people, our army fought bravely and the resistance was victorious. The Government has returned to the Capital with the people. Thousands of miles away, one home, the joy is indescribable…”.
The takeover of the Capital was a great success. We safely and quickly took over 129 offices, public works, factories, hospitals, schools, including military positions and important headquarters such as Hanoi Citadel, Water Station, Bach Mai airport, Gia Lam airport, Governor's Palace, North Vietnam Prime Minister's Palace, Federal Secret Service. People's lives remained normal and stable. Electricity, water, transportation and communications operated smoothly, political security and social order were maintained.

Chapter II, with the theme "Epic Song", vividly recreates the spirit and resilience of the army and people of Hanoi in the resistance war against the US to save the country, especially the 12-day and night Hanoi campaign in December 1972.
Chapter III has the theme "The Capital 70 years of construction and development", recreating the proud development stages of the Capital throughout the proud history of building and defending the country.

At the same time, they contribute to building and developing the Capital to become more and more "Cultured - Civilized - Modern".
