On the evening of May 15, gold prices suddenly increased again, SJC gold bars went against the trend again.

At 8:15 p.m. on May 15, Vietnam time, the price of gold today on the international market increased sharply to nearly the 3,200 USD mark, at 3,196 USD/ounce, a total increase of about 65 USD/ounce (equivalent to about 2 million VND/tael) compared to the morning. This is a very strong recovery of the gold price, after plunging to only 3,130 USD/ounce.

The latest data on the US manufacturing outlook for May was less than expected, supporting gold prices to rise again. Demand for buying at the bottom when gold prices fell to their lowest level in more than a month also helped the precious metal rise.

The USD index in the international market also decreased slightly when it was traded at 100.6 points, down 0.41% compared to the previous session, contributing to the increase in gold prices tonight.

Meanwhile, by the end of the day, the price of SJC gold bars and gold rings continued to decrease. SJC, PNJ, DOJI companies simultaneously reduced the price of SJC gold bars to VND115.5 million/tael for buying and VND118.2 million/tael for selling, down another VND1.2 million/tael compared to the morning and down a total of VND1.8 million compared to yesterday.

SJC gold bar price continues to decrease

The price of 99.99 gold rings and jewelry gold also dropped to 110.5 million VND/tael for buying and 113.5 million VND/tael for selling, down 1.5 million VND/tael compared to the morning. However, the price of gold rings is about 5 million VND/tael lower than that of SJC gold bars.

Domestic gold prices continued to fall, contrary to the recovery trend of world gold prices after the world gold price had continuously decreased in recent days. Since the record peak, the world gold price has lost about 300 USD/ounce (equivalent to 9.5 million VND/tael).

Meanwhile, the price of SJC gold bars has just decreased by about 6 million VND/tael.

Currently, the world gold price converted according to the listed exchange rate is about 100.6 million VND/tael.
