On the morning of June 10, the Provincial Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation organized the 4th "Red Journey" program, honoring outstanding blood donors in 2025 and the "Thanh Sen Red Drops" Festival.
Attending the event were Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Duong Tat Thang - Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation; leaders of departments, branches, organizations and nearly 700 volunteers participating in blood donation.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Duong Tat Thang emphasized that voluntary blood donation has achieved many positive results in recent times. However, in reality, many hospitals still face blood shortages, with many patients having to wait for blood or not having enough blood and blood products for transfusion.
To meet the demand for blood supply for patients, overcome the shortage of blood for emergency and treatment, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested all levels, sectors, localities and units to continue promoting propaganda and mobilization of blood donation. Make voluntary blood donation one of the annual work programs of localities and units. Pay attention to applying digital transformation to blood donor management and organization to honor the value and noble gesture of voluntary blood donors.
Departments, branches, localities and units need to continue to improve the quality and professionalism in organization, blood collection process, human resources and equipment to ensure safety and compliance with regulations; ensure organization, reception and benefits, policies and regimes for voluntary blood donors.
At the voluntary blood donation festival “Giot Hong Thanh Sen”, nearly 700 people volunteered to donate blood. The organizing committee collected more than 500 units of blood, promptly supplementing the reserve, serving the work of medical examination and treatment.
Also at the program, 4 collectives and 19 individuals who donated blood in the voluntary blood donation movement in 2025 were awarded certificates of merit by the Chairman of the People's Committee of Ha Tinh province.
Within the framework of the program, delegates also presented 20 gifts to patients in difficult circumstances at Ha Tinh City Medical Center.
In 2024, Ha Tinh organized 38 blood donation campaigns and received 9,678 units of blood, reaching 107.5% of the plan. In the first 6 months of 2025, the whole province organized 16 blood donation campaigns and received 5,290 units of blood, reaching 55% of the set target. The noble gestures at the program will continue to spread the voluntary blood donation movement in Ha Tinh so that everyone can join hands to "donate blood to save lives", contributing to improving the quality of medical examination and treatment; care and improvement of community health.
