Speaking at the meeting, General Secretary To Lam affirmed that national solidarity is a tradition, an asset, a priceless legacy of our ancestors, and the strength that creates all victories and achievements of our people and our country.

Quoting President Ho Chi Minh's advice: "Unity, unity, great unity; success, success, great success", the General Secretary affirmed that this is the truth, the motto for action, the command from the heart of the nation, of the sacred soul of the mountains and rivers, of the Fatherland sent to each of us.

Sharing with the people about the strength of the great national unity bloc, the General Secretary said that the support of the vast majority of people for the Party and State in the renovation process, in "rearranging the country" is the driving force, the unparalleled source of strength for the Party to confidently carry out its political tasks, resolutely implement the guidelines and policies, especially the contents of the resolutions set forth by the 13th Party Congress and previous Party congresses.

To bring the spirit of solidarity into daily life and to produce measurable results, the General Secretary emphasized the implementation of "people are the root". Accordingly, all policies and strategies must originate from the real needs of the people, be discussed by the people, checked by the people, and benefited by the people. Strengthen public and transparent dialogue; listen to make timely adjustments. Success is the satisfaction of the people.

Besides, we need discipline and integrity. Respect for the law, fight against corruption, waste, and negativity with the viewpoint that there are no forbidden zones, no exceptions, everyone is equal before the law, continue to carry out this task with determination, resoluteness, relentlessness, and uncompromisingness. When trust is strengthened, solidarity will naturally be strong, and internal strength will be multiplied...

Along with that is a streamlined apparatus; unleashing resources for development. Removing legal bottlenecks, upgrading strategic infrastructure, developing high-quality human resources.

Multidimensional and sustainable poverty reduction; care for health care, education, housing, employment; protect the vulnerable, care for the elderly and children, care for remote, border, island and disadvantaged areas. Build a healthy cultural life, preserve identity, nurture compassion and affection in each community.

For the front, unions, social organizations, Vietnamese communities abroad, and international friends, we need to be connected more closely and widely through activities...

Unity is the breath, the rhythm of daily life

According to the General Secretary, solidarity is very close, very ordinary, it is the breath and rhythm of daily life. At the local level, consider people's satisfaction as the measure of all decisions. At enterprises, construction sites, and factories, consider the integrity and income of workers as valuable assets, the vitality of entrepreneurs...

Let's engrave and spread the spirit of "5 dares" (dare to think, dare to speak, dare to do, dare to take responsibility, dare to innovate for the common good); and "3 together" (discuss together, do together, enjoy together). If we do so, we will have contributed a solid brick to the house of great solidarity of Vietnam.

For localities and establishments, where all activities of daily social life take place, the General Secretary emphasized the need for democracy, openness, and transparency; the need to build a culture of thinking correctly, thinking far ahead, thinking with the people, and thinking for the people; the need to speak frankly, truthfully, and concisely; the need to act quickly and firmly; the need to do things thoroughly... the need to protect the legitimate rights and interests of the people and cadres.

General Secretary To Lam noted that whatever is beneficial to the people must be done to the best of our ability, and whatever is harmful to the people must be avoided at all costs. The goal is a leaner apparatus, better service, lower social costs, and higher development opportunities.

According to the General Secretary, we are entering a new phase with many challenges. But the more difficult it is, the more solidarity shines. A nation that has gone through the national defense war, overcome the difficult years of subsidy, created the miracle of innovation, that nation, when united, will certainly reach new heights.

On the occasion of the National Great Unity Day on November 18, the General Secretary called on compatriots, comrades, soldiers nationwide, and the Vietnamese community abroad to join together to preserve, foster and further promote the strength of national great unity.
