General Secretary To Lam leaves for an official visit to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland

On October 28, General Secretary To Lam and his wife, Mrs. Ngo Phuong Ly, along with a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation left Hanoi for an official visit to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland from October 28-30, 2025, at the invitation of Prime Minister of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland Keir Starmer.

The delegation included Politburo members: Nguyen Trong Nghia, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda and Education Commission; Nguyen Duy Ngoc, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Inspection Commission; Nguyen Hoa Binh , Permanent Deputy Prime Minister; Phan Van Giang, Minister of National Defense; Luong Tam Quang, Minister of Public Security; Party Central Committee Secretaries: Le Hoai Trung, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Tran Luu Quang, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee; Party Central Committee members: Pham Gia Tuc, Chief of the Party Central Committee Office; Dao Ngoc Dung, Minister of Ethnic Minorities and Religions; Doan Hong Phong, Government Inspector General; Nguyen Van Thang, Minister of Finance; Nguyen Manh Hung, Minister of Science and Technology; Nguyen Kim Son, Minister of Education and Training; Nguyen Thi Hong, Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam; To An Xo, Assistant to the General Secretary, in charge of the General Secretary's Office. Vietnamese Ambassador to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland Do Minh Hung joined the delegation.

The official visit to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland by General Secretary To Lam and his wife along with the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation took place in the context of the Vietnam-UK strategic partnership developing well in recent years. The visit is of great significance, an opportunity for the leaders of the two countries to discuss and agree on the orientation to elevate the Vietnam-UK relationship to a new level, increase political trust, enhance the effectiveness of cooperation in traditional fields, and at the same time expand cooperation in new fields that are the UK's strengths and are suitable for Vietnam's development requirements.
