Summary of technical support project for businesses to apply continuous improvement tools in production

BAC NINH - On the morning of October 13, at Hanoi Paper and Packaging Company Limited, adjacent to Que Vo Industrial Park, Phuong Lieu Ward, the Department of Industry and Trade of Bac Ninh province organized a summary of the project "Consulting and providing technical support for enterprises to apply continuous improvement tools (Kaizen) in production" in 2025 (referred to as the project).

Attending the conference were representatives of the Department of Industry and Trade, the Vietnam Association of Supporting Industries; leaders of 5 enterprises participating in the Kaizen improvement support project in 2025 and related consulting enterprises.

The project was implemented at 5 supporting industrial enterprises in the fields of manufacturing and assembling electronic components, precision mechanics, and food and beverage processing, including: YAMASAN Tech Vietnam Joint Stock Company, SEIKI Vietnam Mechanical Engineering Co., Ltd., Hai Au Co., Ltd., Hanoi Paper and Packaging Co., Ltd. and H2B Industrial Joint Stock Company.

The project implementation period is from April 28 to August 5, 2025, with a total support budget of more than VND 1.28 billion from the province's supporting industry budget.

After 3 months of implementation, enterprises participating in the project were consulted and provided with technical support to apply continuous improvement tools in production. From the connection, supporting industry enterprises became product suppliers for domestic and foreign customers; promoted foreign investment in the supporting industry sector... Thereby helping enterprises increase labor productivity by an estimated 2% - 5%, reduce costs by 7% - 15% compared to before improvement.

This activity contributes to the realization of the province's industrial development goals and orientations by 2030 to become a city with modern, high-tech industry; by 2045, it will become a smart, high-tech industrial city. At the same time, it will improve competitiveness and promote supply chain linkages between domestic enterprises and FDI enterprises, between supporting industrial enterprises and assembly enterprises.

The conference received many comments. The content of the comments deepened the importance, meaning and objectives of the project in supporting participating enterprises as well as provincial enterprises in innovation, improving productivity, product quality and competitiveness in the market.

In his concluding remarks, the representative of the Department of Industry and Trade emphasized that continuous improvement (Kaizen) in production has helped businesses save time, reduce costs, increase productivity as well as improve the working environment of employees; these are positive results that need to continue to be supported and replicated.
