Up to now, Vietnam's world biosphere reserve network has 11 world biosphere reserves including: Can Gio, Dong Nai, Nui Chua, Cat Ba, Red River Delta, Kien Giang , Western Nghe An, Cu Lao Cham - Hoi An, Ca Mau Cape, Langbiang, Kon Ha Nung. In 2025, despite many difficulties, Vietnam's world biosphere reserve network has had many practical activities, contributing to the cause of nature conservation and community development. In Khanh Hoa, Nui Chua World Biosphere Reserve has implemented many measures, fully implementing the 3 basic functions of a world biosphere reserve including: Conservation of nature, ecosystems and unique cultural values; sustainable socio-economic development; support for scientific research, education, communication and international cooperation. Thereby gradually affirming the role of a bridge between conservation and development, contributing to spreading the image of a green, friendly, sustainable and integrated Khanh Hoa.
The conference to review the network of world biosphere reserves in Vietnam was held on the International Day of Biosphere Reserves (November 3); marking the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam National Committee for Biosphere Reserves, 25 years of the formation of the network of world biosphere reserves in Vietnam. The conference was an opportunity for delegates to exchange and share experiences, discuss orientations and solutions to implement the Hangzhou Strategic Action Plan (China) 2025 - 2036, with the following focuses: Strengthening management capacity, cooperation between world biosphere reserves; restoring ecosystems and adapting to climate change; promoting the role of local communities and young generations in conservation work.

At the conference, delegates listened to reports: Summary of MAB Vietnam's activities in 2025; results of activities in 2025 of 11 world biosphere reserves of Vietnam; results of the 5th World Biosphere Reserve Conference and the 37th MAB IUU Meeting taking place from September 22 to 27, 2025 in Hangzhou; Hangzhou Strategic Action Plan 2025 - 2036 and operational orientation of the Vietnam World Biosphere Reserve Network .
Within the framework of the conference, delegates also participated in a discussion on Orientation of activities of the Vietnam World Biosphere Reserve Network according to the Hangzhou Strategic Action Plan 2025 - 2036 and nominated the World Biosphere Reserve as the host of the conference to summarize the Vietnam World Biosphere Reserve Network in 2026.
