Mr. Vo Hong Nam introduced General Vo Nguyen Giap to the President of South Africa.
The General's life is closely linked to the development of our country's revolution and the important, glorious, sacrificial and arduous historical milestones of the Party and the nation. For more than 30 years as Commander-in-Chief of the Army and Secretary of the Central Military Commission, the name of General Vo Nguyen Giap is closely linked to the great victories of the two long resistance wars against French colonialism and American imperialism, and to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.
Our Party, State and people highly appreciate the contributions of General Vo Nguyen Giap. Generations of officers and soldiers of our Army honor the General as the Elder Brother of the Vietnam People's Army.
During his lifetime, the General no longer continued his work, so most of the events and activities related to the General took place at his private home at 30 Hoang Dieu, Hanoi.
Many foreign guests, including world leaders, wanted to visit and sit next to and talk with the General.
Many Africans know General Vo Nguyen Giap as a legend whom they greatly admire.
