Director of VAIDE Vocational Training Center Trieu Thi Hoa said:
The vocational training course took place from June 12 to October 15, at Thanh Tri School for Disabled Children, Hanoi , with the participation of 30 disabled students (hearing impaired, motor impaired, mildly retarded, etc.), under the guidance of artisan Trieu Quang Tien and teachers of the VAIDE Center. Through the training course, students were introduced to the craft of making handmade flowers from silk fabric, learning about colors, shapes and color combinations in handicrafts. The artisan also introduced tools, materials, cutting and processing techniques for silk fabric, and taught students about the process of finishing products, packaging and displaying.
Students practice basic flower patterns: roses, chrysanthemums, lotus, sunflowers, orchids; practice cutting, creating petals, folding, heat-forming and grafting complete flowers. In the advanced stage, students are taught to combine many types of flowers to make flower baskets, bouquets, decorative flower paintings, at the same time, practice meticulous skills, harmonious color coordination and promote personal creativity.
Within the framework of the vocational training course, students also participated in experiential activities, participated in the exchange program “Flowers from the Heart”, and displayed and introduced each student’s products. In particular, some typical products were selected as gifts for delegates.

Speaking at the program, Bui Van Tuan, Permanent Vice President of the Hanoi Association for the Relief of Disabled Children, emphasized: The silk flower making vocational training course for disabled children has brought many positive results in terms of expertise, spirit and society. Along with the participation of the Organizing Committee, the vocational training course also recognized the enthusiastic and responsible companionship of artisans, lecturers, volunteers and parents in the journey of wholeheartedly supporting and encouraging disabled youth to learn a trade to have more faith, determination, more opportunities to find a livelihood, and confidently integrate into the community./.
