From innovation in production thinking to developing craft village economy , Chuyen My is gradually affirming its position as a dynamic, creative and ambitious commune.
Strong changes in farmers' lives
In recent years, with the attention and direction of the City Party Committee and People's Committee, and the close guidance of the City Farmers' Association, the movement "Farmers compete in production, good business, unite to help each other get rich and sustainably reduce poverty" in Chuyen My commune has developed more and more widely. This is not only a simple emulation movement but has become an important driving force to promote economic development, improve the quality of life of members, and contribute to building a civilized and modern new countryside.

The highlight is that the movement has aroused the spirit of autonomy and creativity of farmers in applying technical advances, expanding production scale, and boldly investing in new industries. Thanks to that, the whole commune has hundreds of farming households achieving the title of good production and business at all levels. The number of typical households has increased steadily over the years: From 120 households in 2020 to 180 households in 2024, of which 15 households have reached the city level. Notably, many households have an income of several hundred million to several billion VND per year, becoming the "locomotive" to spread the spirit of daring to think and daring to do of Chuyen My farmers.
Along with the development of the movement, the commune's poverty rate has decreased sharply from 3.2% (in 2020) to 0% in 2024, maintaining this target in 2025. This result clearly demonstrates the determination of the entire political system in taking care of people's lives, especially accompanying farmers to escape poverty sustainably. Up to now, the commune has only 121 near-poor households, mainly households with difficulties in health and working conditions.
Not only stopping at the emulation movement, Chuyen My also formed many typical economic models. Among them is the mother-of-pearl inlay workshop of Mr. Nguyen Van Hoa, attracting 15 workers and revenue of more than 3 billion VND/year; the leather shoe production model of Mr. Nguyen Nhu Dien attracting 10 workers with revenue of 3.5 billion VND/year; the ornamental plant growing model combined with fish farming of Ms. Tran Thi Lan bringing in income of about 1.5 billion VND/year. In particular, the Dai Nghiep village fine art wooden furniture cooperative links 8 households, creating jobs for 40 workers, bringing products to consume domestically and internationally.

These models not only contribute to increasing income and creating stable jobs, but also inspire and spread the spirit of solidarity, creativity, and mutual assistance in economic development.
Support capital for technical transfer to expand linkages
To make the movement effective, the Farmers' Association of Chuyen My commune has played a core role in gathering members, supporting production and inspiring the spirit of progress. Each year, the Association mobilizes billions of VND from the Farmers' Support Fund and policy banks, creating conditions for hundreds of members to borrow capital to invest in machinery, expand production and develop industries.
Along with that, the movement “Farmers help each other get rich and reduce poverty sustainably” has been maintained effectively. Many good producers have directly supported members in difficulty with capital, seeds, materials, and farming experience, contributing to creating a profound human beauty in the life of the rural community. Thanks to that practical support, many households have risen out of poverty, improved their income, and gradually improved their quality of life.

In addition to capital support activities, Chuyen My commune also focuses on developing collective economy, building new agricultural cooperative models, and promoting linkages between farmers - enterprises - cooperatives. The formation of linkage chains has helped agricultural products have stable outputs, increased economic value, and at the same time created a foundation for building local product brands.
The commune currently has 5/5 villages with traditional crafts, of which the most prominent are the ancient village of Cuu and the mother-of-pearl inlay craft village of Chuon Ngo. This is both an economic advantage and a foundation for developing craft village tourism - a new direction that is being oriented and promoted by the locality. In particular, the event that the World Craft Council plans to assess and recognize the mother-of-pearl inlay - lacquer craft village of Chuyen My as a member of the network of creative craft villages in the world is an important milestone, affirming the position and traditional cultural values of the locality.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoa, Chairwoman of the Farmers' Association of Chuyen My Commune, besides the remarkable results, the movement still has some difficulties: Propaganda work at some establishments is not really extensive; production scale is still small and lacks linkage; support capital has not fully met the needs; the discovery, training and replication of typical models is sometimes slow.
To continue improving the quality of the movement of farmers competing in production and business, Tran Thi Dung, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Commune Party Committee, said that the locality is focusing on implementing many synchronous solutions. First of all, the commune focuses on innovating the content and methods of propaganda, taking advantage of social networks and modern media, to spread good models and typical examples; at the same time, promoting the role of branches and associations in discovering and nurturing new factors. At the same time, Chuyen My promotes production linkages, develops collective economy, encourages members to participate in cooperatives and cooperative groups associated with agricultural value chains; promotes the "4-house" linkage model to create a sustainable production foundation. Support for members is also enhanced through expanding capital sources, technical support, technology transfer training, promoting digital transformation in traceability, promoting and consuming products.
According to Tran Thi Dung, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Chuyen My Commune, along with economic solutions, the commune also strongly promotes the spirit of solidarity in the farming community through the model of "Farmers helping farmers", contributing to supporting disadvantaged households to escape poverty and spreading humanitarian values in life. In addition, timely recognition, rewards and replication of advanced models are also considered important driving forces to encourage the movement to develop more strongly. These orientations will be the foundation for Chuyen My to continue to develop the rural economy in a modern, sustainable direction, harmoniously combining tradition and innovation.
Practice in Chuyen My shows that the movement "Farmers compete in production, good business, unite to help each other get rich and sustainably reduce poverty" not only creates clear economic values, but also affirms the mettle, intelligence and aspiration of the capital's farmers in the integration period.
The synchronous participation of the Farmers' Association, the Party Committee, the Commune People's Committee and the solidarity of the people have created a new look for the rural economy of Chuyen My: more dynamic, more creative and more sustainable. From traditional craft villages to modern production models, from poverty reduction support to promoting enrichment, Chuyen My is continuing its journey to affirm its position as a countryside rich in potential, rich in tradition, and rich in the will to rise up.
