Hanoi tours "sold out early", customers proactively booked from June

On the occasion of National Day September 2 this year, Hanoi became the center of tourism in the country when it organized a large-scale military parade at Ba Dinh Square.

Along with a series of events celebrating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2, the capital city welcomed a sudden increase in the number of visitors, pushing the Northern tour market into the most exciting season of the year.

Many travel agencies said that the number of customers booking tours to Hanoi and connecting regional routes such as Hanoi - Ninh Binh , Hanoi - Ha Long, Hanoi - Moc Chau... increased dramatically since the beginning of August, especially during the period from August 30 to September 2.

Not only groups of guests, many families and groups of young people also take advantage of the long holiday to enjoy the historical and festive atmosphere in the capital.

Mr. Pham Anh Vu - representative of Viet Tourism Media Joint Stock Company - said that the demand for booking tours on September 2 this year increased by about 20-25% compared to the same period last year.

Many guests have made plans since June to reserve hotels near event venues. Areas around Ba Dinh Square, the Old Quarter, Hoan Kiem Lake, etc. have been fully booked very early, showing the special appeal of this year's holiday.

Not only Hanoi, "satellite" destinations such as Ninh Binh, Ha Long, Sa Pa, Moc Chau also benefit when tourists choose to combine them in their itinerary. Tourists can both visit the beautiful scenery of the North and return to Hanoi to attend the festival and enjoy the autumn weather.

Grasping the new demand, travel companies have launched many tours specifically designed for National Day. Viet Tourism introduces itineraries such as Hanoi - Ninh Binh combined with watching the parade (3 days 2 nights, price from 10.99 million VND), or Hanoi - Ha Long - Sa Pa - Ninh Binh (5 days 4 nights, price from 10.59 million VND).

The Northeast - Northwest tours to explore Tuyen Quang (specifically in the old Ha Giang), Son La, Dien Bien... are also chosen by many people with costs from 11.39 million VND/person.

BenThanh Tourist has released nearly 30 holiday tours, of which two outstanding itineraries are themed "National Concert in Harmony", Hanoi - Ninh Binh - Trang An and Hanoi - Ha Long routes.

The 4-day tour, with a package price of 12.99 million VND, includes two nights in Hanoi and a free day for visitors to enjoy the festival atmosphere in Ba Dinh.

As of early August, Vietravel Hanoi has recorded positive signals from the market as the number of customers interested in and registering for tours during the September 2 holiday has continuously increased. Of the total 1,500 seats prepared for the holiday, nearly 40% of the seats have been filled.

The highlight of this occasion is the "In Harmony with the National Concert" product line, which includes 6 itineraries specially designed for the historic parade at Ba Dinh Square. The routes not only connect typical destinations in the North but also include the experience of visiting the Vietnam Military History Museum - a highlight throughout the entire journey.

Similarly, in August, Saigontourist introduced a special journey called "Vietnam Pride Journey". This is a trip designed to bring the hearts of Vietnamese people to the beat of the country, touching historical moments and living fully in national pride.

Visitors will return to the historic Ba Dinh Square, where the whole nation gathers on this important anniversary, immersing themselves in the solemn atmosphere of the rehearsals, parades and official ceremonies on September 2.

In addition, the tour also combines exploring the beauty of the North with prominent destinations such as Hanoi, Ninh Binh, Ha Long, Sapa.

The trip lasts 4-6 days, departing from Ho Chi Minh City on August 27, 28 and September 1, using Vietnam Airlines, staying at 3-4 star hotels, with a package price from 10,079,000 VND/person.

Vietluxtour also exploits products associated with historical imprints such as "Following Uncle Ho's footsteps" (Hanoi - Thai Nguyen - Tuyen Quang), "Remembering the October autumn" (Hanoi - Tuyen Quang)... The journey towards the origin attracts the attention of older groups of guests, schools, organizations and multi-generational families.

Ms. Tran Thi Bao Thu, Marketing and Communications Director of Vietluxtour, said that not only is September 2 an important holiday, it also coincides with the beginning of autumn in the North - one of the most beautiful seasons of the year.

Vietluxtour noted that the trend of autumn tourism is increasing strongly after the pandemic. Many people choose Hanoi not only for the parade but also to enjoy the ancient and romantic autumn scenery.

Tour prices are stable, airfares are increasing sharply

Since Covid-19, the seasonality of tourism has decreased significantly, customers have started to spread their trips throughout the year instead of concentrating on the summer. The period from August to November this year is considered the new peak for tours combining relaxation, cultural and historical exploration.

In that trend, Hanoi, with its heritage depth and current appeal, has returned to the race as a top destination on National Day.

Although domestic airfares on September 2 increased compared to the same period last year, especially on the Ho Chi Minh City - Hanoi route, businesses still kept tour prices stable thanks to proactive early negotiations with airlines and hotels.

Companies such as Viet Travel and Vietluxtour said they had planned since the end of the first quarter, ensuring service supply and maintaining prices with only a slight increase of 2-5% compared to last year.

Travel agencies recommend that tourists should proactively book tours early to avoid "sold out" tickets, especially for air tickets and hotels in central Hanoi. For family groups with the elderly and children, it is recommended to choose a package tour to be fully taken care of throughout the journey.

In addition, as Hanoi plans to restrict personal vehicles on many routes on the day of the parade, visitors should update traffic information, wear comfortable clothes, be in good health and bring complete documents.

For customers buying tours online, they should carefully check the information of the organizing unit, prioritizing official websites to avoid risks.
