On December 26, Cao Lanh City People's Committee solemnly held a ceremony to announce the Resolution of the National Assembly Standing Committee on the arrangement of commune-level administrative units in Dong Thap province. Attending were comrade Pham Thien Nghia - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; comrade Kieu The Lam - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; former leaders of the province and Cao Lanh City through the periods.

At the ceremony, the representative of the Department of Home Affairs announced the full text of Resolution No. 1284 dated November 14, 2024 of the National Assembly Standing Committee on the arrangement of commune-level administrative units of Dong Thap province for the period 2023 - 2025. Accordingly, the arrangement of commune-level administrative units of Cao Lanh City includes: Merging the entire natural area of 0.55 km2 and population of 10,494 people of Ward 2 into Ward 1. After the merger, Ward 1 has a natural area of 2.57 km2 and a population of 21,934 people. Ward 1 borders Ward 3, Ward 4, Hoa Thuan Ward, My Phu Ward, My Tan Commune and My Tra Commune. The office of Ward 1 is located at the old Ward 2 People's Committee.

My Ngai Ward was established on the basis of merging the entire natural area of 6.19 km2, population of 5,394 people of My Ngai Commune and the entire natural area of 8.24 km2, population of 13,833 people of Ward 11. After establishment, My Ngai Ward had a natural area of 14.43 km2 and a population of 19,227 people. My Ngai Ward borders the communes of Hoa An, My Tan, Tan Thuan Tay; Cao Lanh District and An Giang Province. The working headquarters of My Ngai Ward is located at the People's Committee of the old My Ngai Commune.
After the reorganization of commune-level administrative units, Cao Lanh City has 13 commune-level administrative units, including 7 wards and 6 communes. Dong Thap Province has 12 district-level administrative units, including 9 districts and 3 cities, 141 commune-level administrative units, including 114 communes, 18 wards and 9 towns. This Resolution takes effect from January 1, 2025.

At the ceremony, the Standing Committee of Cao Lanh City Party Committee announced 2 Decisions to establish the Party Committee of Ward 1 and the Party Committee of My Ngai Ward. Accordingly, the Party Committee of Ward 1 has 17 subordinate Party cells with 1,241 Party members; the Party Committee of My Ngai Ward has 18 subordinate Party cells with 599 Party members. Each Executive Committee of the Ward Party Committee has 15 comrades; the Standing Committee of the Ward Party Committee has 5 comrades.

Comrade Mai Kien Truc holds the position of Party Secretary of Ward 1 and 2 Deputy Party Secretaries are Tran Van Thao and Nguyen Van Tuan. Comrade Tran Van Thong holds the position of Party Secretary of My Ngai Ward, 2 Deputy Party Secretaries are Huynh Le Minh and Nguyen Van Hieu.
Speaking at the ceremony, comrade Pham Thien Nghia - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized that the implementation of the policy of rearranging commune-level administrative units in Cao Lanh City helps expand development space, concentrate investment resources for development, improve people's lives and contribute significantly to the successful implementation of Conclusion No. 253 of the Provincial Party Committee.

Comrade Pham Thien Nghia requested Cao Lanh City to perfect the organization, staff and civil servants in the newly formed administrative unit to meet the requirements of tasks in the new conditions; at the same time, create the most favorable conditions for people, agencies, organizations and enterprises to resolve administrative procedures arising from the arrangement of administrative units.
Receiving the direction of the provincial leaders, comrade Vo Phan Thanh Minh - Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Cao Lanh City said that immediately after the ceremony, the city will urgently focus on perfecting the organization, apparatus and staff in conjunction with implementing Directive No. 35 of the 12th Politburo on Party congresses at all levels for the 2025 - 2030 term; continue to lead and improve state management activities in administrative units to reorganize and soon stabilize the operations of relevant agencies and organizations.
At the same time, create all favorable conditions for people, organizations and enterprises to conduct transactions in the newly formed administrative units after the arrangement; convert documents for people, agencies, units and enterprises due to the arrangement of administrative units according to regulations.
