According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, this is the result of efforts to build new and attractive products to enhance the experience for tourists. These new culinary tourism programs are not only a journey of flavor discovery, but also stories of culture, history and local people.

Ms. Bui Thi Ngoc Hieu, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, emphasized that the diversity and richness of the culinary tourism programs just announced will contribute to building the city's tourism ecosystem to be more rich, sustainable and full of vitality.
This is also the goal in the strategic orientation of making cuisine a key tourism product according to the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Development Project to 2030.
The Department of Tourism hopes that these programs will continue to affirm Ho Chi Minh City's position as a tourist center - an unmissable destination for domestic and international tourists.
According to Ms. Hieu, Ho Chi Minh City currently possesses more than 680 tourism resources that are qualified to develop into diverse destinations, ranging from vibrant urban spaces, traditional craft villages, modern industrial parks... to poetic riverside areas and charming seas and islands.

In the heart of the city, unique architectural heritages, street food spaces, and vibrant festivals have become typical highlights.
This is the foundation for the tourism industry to develop strongly, diversify tourism products, and offer tourists many experience options, from luxury resorts, exploring nature, to learning about local culture and history.
In addition to 20 new culinary tourism programs, the City has also developed 15 new tourism programs, belonging to typical product groups such as MICE tourism, resort island tourism, eco-tourism, cultural-historical tourism and urban tourism combined with shopping.
There needs to be a large-scale food festival.
As one of the tourism businesses that has built and exploited culinary tourism programs, a representative of Vietravel shared that Ho Chi Minh City possesses all the conditions to become the culinary "capital" of Vietnam and the region.
However, to position the brand as a City of “flavor and experience”, it is necessary to focus on the connection between the government, associations, businesses and the creative community to exploit potential and strengths into real value.

At the same time, perfect the mechanism, policies and positioning of Ho Chi Minh City's culinary brand. Build a set of criteria to identify culinary "destinations" and design specialized tours and develop street food associated with the night economy.
Build a team of culinary “ambassadors” and create space for young people to participate in preserving and developing digital culinary tourism maps… Strengthen international cooperation promotion, aiming to organize the Southeast Asian Food Festival in Ho Chi Minh City.
Vietravel representative added that cuisine is the main driving force of modern tourism, helping tourists explore local culture. In particular, 81% of international tourists want to experience local cuisine and explore indigenous culture.

Ho Chi Minh City targets high-quality tourist market
Mr. Nguyen Tan Viet, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Culinary Association, said that to honor and promote the cultural value of vegetarian cuisine, the Association will coordinate to organize the Vegetarian Food Festival 2025 - Green Food Festival 2025, scheduled to take place from October 31 to November 4, with the largest scale ever.
With a large scale and rich content, the festival is expected to become a unique cultural, tourism and culinary destination, creating an attractive attraction for the public and visitors to Ho Chi Minh City during the year-end festival season, Mr. Viet added.
