On June 2, information from FV Hospital, Ho Chi Minh City, after more than a year of intensive treatment, a Korean patient who suffered a stroke and was in a deep coma was revived and brought back to the country for continued treatment.

It is worth mentioning that during the entire treatment process, the hospital could not contact the patient's relatives but still decided to save the patient's life with all their efforts because "human life is the most precious."

A year ago, Mr. YS (42 years old, Korean nationality) suffered a stroke and fell into a deep coma at his private apartment in Ho Chi Minh City, then was taken to FV Hospital for emergency treatment.

At the time of admission, the patient was in a deep coma and unable to contact family or relatives to cover hospital fees and care.

However, with the spirit of "saving the patient is above all," FV Hospital doctors still decided to perform emergency treatment and surgery for the patient.

After surgery, the patient remained in a coma. In a vegetative state, the patient's health went through many ups and downs, constantly having fevers due to many life-threatening infections, and even having a serious pneumothorax.

Faced with the patient's critical condition, FV Hospital's leadership mobilized many doctors and medical staff from many specialties such as Emergency Resuscitation, Neurosurgery, Thoracic Surgery, Nutrition, Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation, Infectious Diseases, etc. to coordinate active treatment.

An unexpected miracle happened, after 80 days of being in a vegetative state, the patient gradually regained consciousness.

In parallel with the treatment process, FV Hospital coordinated with the Korean Consulate in Ho Chi Minh City to find relatives and discuss solutions to bring patient YS back to the country.

After much effort, the Korean Consulate found a hospital in Korea that would accept their citizens.

Mr. Kwon Tae Han, Deputy Consul General of Korea in Ho Chi Minh City expressed his deep gratitude for the humanitarian support and dedicated medical expertise of the leadership and staff of FV Hospital for patient YS.

“Although the patient was admitted in a very serious health condition and went through many difficulties, the medical team did not give up but actively treated him and finally saved his life. We are very grateful for that,” Mr. Kwon Tae Han shared./.
