Following the direction of the leaders of the Department of Domestic Market Management and Development, the Market Management Department divided into 6 working groups to simultaneously inspect major business locations in different areas of the Saigon Square Trade Center.

The appearance of the Market Management force immediately caused many traders at the booths to hastily close their doors to obstruct the inspection process, making it difficult for the authorities to approach and handle violations.

However, by using professional measures, the Market Management force quickly arrived at pre-planned locations and promptly prevented the resistance and evasion of inspection by traders.

As soon as the inspection team appeared, the security team's walkie-talkie system at Saigon Square Shopping Center was immediately activated, and an announcement was made via internal loudspeaker to warn merchants to close their shops, making it difficult to inspect and handle violations.

At the business locations, the Inspection Teams initially recorded a series of products for sale bearing famous brands such as Rolex, Longines, Patek Philippe watches; handbags and wallets, accessories of LV, Gucci, Dior, YSL, Celine, Goyard, Chanel, Hermès, Bottega Veneta, Prada... However, all of these products showed signs of counterfeiting genuine goods, seriously affecting the interests of consumers as well as the reputation of protected brands in Vietnam.

According to IPT Intellectual Property Consulting Company Limited - the representative unit for trademark protection for famous brands such as Rolex, BVLGARI, Chanel..., most of the products that the Inspection Team is handling show signs of counterfeiting the trademarks protected by the company. These products are sold at prices much lower than genuine products.

In addition to IPT Intellectual Property Consulting Co., Ltd., many law offices and law firms representing intellectual property for brands were also present at Saigon Square to identify signs of infringement of goods at business establishments. Through inspection, the authorities discovered thousands of infringing goods.

According to Mr. Tran Viet Hung, Head of Market Management Department (Domestic Market Management and Development Department), this is one of the typical cases in the peak month deployed by the Department of Domestic Market Management and Development. Inspection activities at Saigon Square will continue to be carried out by the Department in the coming time, because this is a central area, attracting a large number of domestic and international tourists when coming to Ho Chi Minh City.

Previously, during an inspection at the end of 2024 at Saigon Square Shopping Center, authorities also seized thousands of counterfeit products of famous brands, showing that the violations are still complicated and show signs of recurrence.
