Mong Cai City proposes to reduce time for immigration procedures to China

On May 1, information from the People's Committee of Mong Cai City ( Quang Ninh ) said that this locality sent an exchange letter since April 20 regarding the removal of difficulties and shortcomings in immigration activities between Mong Cai International Border Gate - Dong Hung City.

According to the People's Committee of Mong Cai City, since February 21, the Mong Cai - Dongxing City (China) border gate pair has restored tourism activities after 3 years of being affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, meeting the needs and receiving support from the people.

However, there are still many shortcomings in the immigration control area at Dong Hung border gate, causing many steps and time for Vietnamese tourists coming in groups to visit during the day.

In particular, Vietnamese tourists must use the Wechat application to scan the health quarantine code; there is no separate lane for tourists and they have to queue together with border residents. This is the main reason why tourists have to wait in line for so long as they do now.

Specifically, the check-in time for a group of 20 tourists takes 2-4 hours; on weekends it increases to 5 hours.

In case of people with abnormal health symptoms, the procedure must take 1 - 2 hours.

Tourists wait for hours to exit to Dongxing City (China)

Procedures at Dong Hung border gate take a long time, leading to frequent congestion, affecting border tourism activities.

In addition, Mong Cai City proposed that Dong Hung City soon open the inspection and immigration flow for tourists and self-driving tourist vehicles through Bac Luan 2 border gate (Mong Cai City).

As Thanh Nien reported, in the first two days of the April 30 - May 1 holiday, thousands of tourists from all over flocked to Mong Cai City to depart for Dongxing City (China) for a day trip. This has been a product for many years in Mong Cai City, but due to the long procedures in Dongxing City, tourists are tired of waiting, and the travel time to the neighboring country is only 4 - 5 hours and then return.
