(Quang Ngai Newspaper) - With the efforts and determination of the Party Committee and the government of Tra Bong district in implementing policies for ethnic minority and mountainous areas, the lives of ethnic minorities in the district are increasingly improved, and the socio -economy is developing.

Leverage from programs and policies

Nowadays, coming to the ethnic minority areas in Tra Bong district, everyone can feel the rapid changes of the cinnamon land. Thanks to the efforts and determination of the Party Committee and the government in effectively leading and implementing policies for ethnic minority and mountainous areas, the lives of people in Tra Bong district in general and people in ethnic minority areas in particular have changed significantly.

In particular, the poverty rate of the district has decreased to 20.19%; the material and spiritual life of the people has been significantly improved; national defense and security have been maintained, the political system has been gradually consolidated; the new rural appearance of the district has become more and more prosperous, and the strength of solidarity among ethnic groups has been maintained.

The above results are thanks to the district's effective implementation of policies for ethnic minority and mountainous areas over the past 5 years. Of which, the district has received nearly 500 billion VND from programs and policies such as Program 135, the Program for implementing specific policies to support socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas.

National Target Program on socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas; policies for prestigious people in ethnic minority areas; policies to support students and schools in extremely disadvantaged communes and villages; New Rural Development Program... Thanks to that, hundreds of works and projects bringing practical effects in the socio-economic development of the district have been implemented.

Tra Bong district has also implemented hundreds of agricultural extension models, converting crops and livestock, transferring scientific and technical advances into production more and more effectively. The applied models have brought about economic efficiency, new plant varieties are increasingly put into production. People have gradually shifted from grazing to semi-intensive farming models, many households raise livestock in the form of farms, with herds of dozens of animals... Programs, projects, and policies for ethnic minority and mountainous areas that have been invested effectively have brought confidence to ethnic minority people in the district.

The rural landscape is increasingly changing.

In the period of 2019 - 2024, the economy of Tra Bong district continues to develop; the economic structure shifts in the right direction, from an economy mainly based on agricultural and forestry production to gradually increasing the proportion of construction industry and trade services. Agricultural and forestry products develop in the direction of commodity production and focus on quality, based on traditional crops and crops with stable output.

Many effective models of combining cultivation and livestock raising are being formed, creating favorable conditions for people to gradually access the market for goods consumption. Industry, trade and services have made positive steps. Economic and social infrastructure has been invested in and built synchronously.

Up to now, the national grid has reached 100% of communes, with 99% of households using it; 100% of roads from the district to the commune center are asphalted; 92.4% of roads from the commune to the village are concreted according to new rural standards. The irrigation system provides stable water for over 82% of the rice fields. Tra Bong district currently has 3 communes meeting 19 new rural criteria, 1 commune meeting 18 new rural criteria...

The policy of developing education and training for ethnic minority areas has also been effectively implemented by Tra Bong district. Facilities and teaching equipment are increasingly invested in the direction of solidification, gradually meeting the teaching needs of ethnic minority children. Tra Bong district has 17 schools that meet national standards in education.

People's health care has changed dramatically, facilities and equipment from district to commune have been invested in; the quality of medical examination and treatment has been improved. The work of preserving, maintaining and promoting national cultural identity, especially the Cor ethnic culture, has been focused on by the district. The movement "All people unite to build a cultural life", building cultural villages, hamlets, residential areas, cultural agencies, units and enterprises has been promoted. Cultural, artistic, physical education and sports activities have been maintained regularly...

Main objectives

Tra Bong district strives to achieve an economic growth rate of 8-10% per year by 2029; orient the economic structure to shift reasonably between agriculture, forestry, industry, construction and trade and services. Reduce the poverty rate in the area to below 20%; strive for the number of communes meeting new rural standards by 2029 to be about 53% (8/15 communes). Increase the rate of rural workers through training to 60%; the number of workers with regular jobs to 90%. Reduce the rate of malnourished children to 15%. Invest in synchronous development of rural socio-economic infrastructure, strive for 100% of district roads to be asphalted, 100% of roads from communes to villages and inter-villages to be concreted according to new rural standards; ensure conditions for learning, medical treatment, cultural and spiritual activities, preserve and promote national cultural identity.

Chairman of Tra Bong District People's Committee Tran Hoang Vinh said that the district has effectively implemented development investment capital and career capital in implementing programs in the area. Projects, sub-projects and components have created momentum to contribute to changing the rural appearance of the district.

Investment in livelihood creation, economic development, and reduction of child marriage and incestuous marriage in the district has been and is being implemented with many positive results, contributing to preserving and promoting traditional cultural values ​​and national identity as well as investing in supporting capital for economic development and improving the material and spiritual life of the people.

To achieve the socio-economic development goals in the coming years, Tra Bong district continues to focus on implementing well programs, projects and policies to create rapid changes in production. In particular, focusing on comprehensive socio-economic development, focusing on organizing production and supporting the development of sustainable agricultural and forestry production, towards commodity production. Paying attention to investing in building synchronous socio-economic infrastructure.

Continue to implement solutions on poverty reduction, invest in development of health, education, culture, focus on improving life skills and integration for students. Pay attention to investing in building new rural areas rich in national cultural identity. In particular, focus on implementing policies on education and training to improve people's knowledge, protect the environment; ensure security and national defense.
