Following the success of previous years, Korean Gastronomy Week 2023 officially returns and brings unique Korean culinary experiences with the theme of Autumn Forest. Here, typical ingredients from the Korean mountains and forests will be skillfully combined by talented chefs, creating interesting dishes for diners.

Korean Food Week 2023 with many interesting activities

Forest products have always been a key item in Korea’s food exports. Thanks to the preserved natural environment and special soil conditions, Korean forest products, when applied to cuisine, have the effect of enhancing both the flavor and nutritional value of dishes.

Some Korean forest products that are used as familiar foods include: Sannamul - a side dish made from vegetables, appearing in most daily meals; red apples with the function of enhancing immunity, having a sedative effect, improving sleep quality; dried persimmons help improve cardiovascular health, reduce inflammation, support healthy eyesight and digestive system...

Forest products are widely used in Korean cuisine.

The opening ceremony of Korean Gastronomy Week 2023 took place on November 30, 2023 at the InterContinental Hanoi Landmark72 Hotel to promote Korean agricultural and forestry products to consumers.

Sharing at the ceremony, Mr. Choi Young-sam - Korean Ambassador to Vietnam happily expressed: “A country's cuisine and culture are one of the most important means to understand the country and its people. Korean Food Week 2023 aims to introduce premium Korean food ingredients to Vietnam as well as a menu of high-quality Korean dishes developed by a 2-star Michelin chef; expanding opportunities to learn about Korean culture and bringing the two countries closer together”.

Event's main chef: Chef Lee Jun - 2-star Michelin chef

Lee Jun - a 2-star Michelin chef from Korea, is the main chef accompanying the entire event of Korea Gastronomy Week 2023. Lee Jun's cooking style reflects his diverse international experience. Each dish on Lee Jun's special menu aims to elevate the user's culinary experience. It is a unique blend of Korean cooking techniques as well as Korean culinary culture.

During the Korean Food Week, he will introduce his special dishes such as Deodeok Salad, Flounder and Doraji (Platycodon grandiflorum), Abalone and Miyeok, Duck Breast with Yakbap and Beef Chui Namul. Typical ingredients from the Korean mountains and forests such as: deodeok, dried persimmon, walnuts, mushrooms, red apples, Platycodon grandiflorum... are delicately combined in each dish, creating a unique experience for diners.

Many unique exchange and experience activities

In particular, when attending the opening ceremony, diners will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the space of traditional Korean art through performances by artisans from the Korean Cultural Center in Vietnam.

Mr. Park Min-cheol - Director of Korea Agro-Fisheries and Food Products Distribution Corporation in ASEAN expressed: "We hope that you will love the dishes introduced in this Korean Food Week and each person will become an ambassador to promote our wonderful culinary culture."

After the opening ceremony, the Korean Gastronomy Week 2023 event series will continue with many interesting cultural and culinary activities: Soko Night with guest bartender Son Soko; Korean Whiskey Mixing Class led by founder and owner of Ki One Whiskey - Bryan Do; Namul Making Class with Master Chef Choi Hyangran; Kimchi Making Class with Master Chef Lee Sunhee; "Hankwa" Dessert Making Class instructed by Chef Kang Hyo Sung.

Korean Gastronomy Week 2023 will take place from November 30 to December 10 at the InterContinental Hanoi Landmark72 Hotel, bringing together top-class chefs and bartenders from Korea, promising to bring diners unforgettable experiences with the cuisine and culture of the "land of kimchi".
