In the early morning of July 14, Sinner defeated Alcaraz 3-1 in the final to win Wimbledon for the first time.
Notably, the strange incident happened in the second set when Italian tennis player Jannik Sinner was preparing to serve after losing the first set to Alcaraz.
Just as Sinner was concentrating on his serve, there was a loud "pop" of a champagne bottle being popped. Immediately after, the cork flew straight into the court, near the position of the world number 1 player.
The Italian player was forced to stop, calmly walk over to pick up the cork and hand it to a ball girl. At the same time, boos echoed throughout the Central Court, expressing the audience's dissatisfaction with the disrespectful actions of a certain fan.

Immediately, the match's main referee had to speak up to calm the crowd. She said loudly through the microphone: "Ladies and gentlemen, out of respect for our players, please do not pop the champagne cork just as a player is about to serve."
This is not the first time a champagne incident has occurred at Wimbledon this year. Earlier in the tournament, a match on the outfield was also affected by the popping of champagne.
Luckily, tennis player Emma Raducanu was resting and was not directly affected. It is known that each bottle of champagne sold at Wimbledon is not cheap (more than 100 pounds).
Though it was only a small moment, the interruption due to the champagne cork will certainly be one of the memorable, yet strange situations of the 2025 Wimbledon final.
