Attending the procession and enshrinement ceremony of the Buddha's relics at Bai Dinh Pagoda were comrades: Doan Minh Huan, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Mai Van Tuat, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Pham Quang Ngoc, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee. Also attending were Mr. Sandeep Arya, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to Vietnam; representatives of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha; comrades of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee; leaders of the Provincial People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; representatives of provincial departments and branches; Gia Vien district, along with a large number of people, Buddhists and tourists.
The procession of Buddha's relics moved from Tam Chuc Pagoda ( Ha Nam ) to Hoa Lu city, passing through many streets in the city before being enshrined at Bai Dinh Pagoda.
The ceremony of welcoming the Buddha's relics was held solemnly and respectfully, expressing gratitude and honoring the Buddha's compassion and wisdom, arousing admiration and faith in goodness in every citizen and Buddhist; creating opportunities for monks, nuns, Buddhists and tourists to worship, pay homage, cultivate merit and connect spiritual beliefs.
After the enthronement ceremony, Bai Dinh Pagoda opened its doors for free for people and Buddhists to visit, pay homage to Buddha's relics, and pray for national peace, world peace, and happiness for all beings.
Bai Dinh Pagoda is the fifth place to honor the relics of Buddha Shakyamuni - the National Treasure of India. This is a special event within the framework of the United Nations Vesak 2025 hosted by Vietnam.
This is an event of great political , diplomatic and cultural significance, an opportunity to promote the image of Vietnam in general and Ninh Binh province in particular. At the same time, it affirms the policy of religious freedom and open foreign policy of our Party and State.
According to the plan, the Buddha's relics will be carried and enshrined at Bai Dinh Pagoda from 11:30 a.m. on May 21 to 9:30 a.m. on May 22, creating an opportunity for a large number of monks, nuns, Buddhists and tourists from all over to come and worship; at 10 a.m. on May 22, a ceremony will be held to bid farewell to the Buddha's relics.
