Visiting Buddha's relics is a special event within the framework of the United Nations Vesak Festival 2025 hosted by Vietnam.
To meet the needs and aspirations of the people and Buddhists to worship Buddha's relics in Vietnam, the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions has advised the Government and the Prime Minister to send a letter to the Prime Minister of India, requesting an extension of the display period of Buddha's relics in Vietnam from May 22 to June 2, 2025.
With the Indian Government's approval to extend the time, on the morning of May 21, the Buddha's relics were brought to Bai Dinh Pagoda ( Ninh Binh ) to serve the worship needs of the people and Buddhist followers.
During the two days of procession and enshrinement at Bai Dinh Pagoda, tens of thousands of believers, Buddhists, locals and tourists from all over came to worship the Buddha's relics.
On the evening of May 21 and 22, at Tam The Temple where the Buddha's relics are enshrined, the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of Ninh Binh Province and Bai Dinh Pagoda organized a night of lanterns and chanting to pray for national peace and prosperity, good crops, and people's happiness, meeting the people's religious and belief needs.
To organize the solemn procession and enshrinement of Buddha's relics, ensuring security and order, the Provincial People's Committee has directed the Provincial Police and related localities to deploy the work of ensuring security and order, traffic safety, fire prevention and fighting; arrange for the Traffic Police to organize the reception and lead the procession of Buddha's relics in the province and at Bai Dinh Pagoda.
The Department of Health has arranged emergency personnel to promptly handle health-related issues, ensure food safety and health for delegates, followers, Buddhists and people attending the ceremony...
On the occasion of the organization of the Buddha's relic enshrinement in Ninh Binh, the Department of Tourism also promoted propaganda, promotion and introduction of tangible and intangible cultural heritages belonging to the heritage located in the Trang An Scenic Complex.
