On the afternoon of April 28, the Provincial Association for Promotion of Education (AES) organized a scholarship awarding program of the Vo Van Kiet Science Fund to students with especially difficult circumstances on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025). Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Pham Van Thieu attended and spoke at the program.
Accordingly, the Provincial Science and Technology Association awarded scholarships to 600 students representing 2,000 students receiving scholarships this time, each worth 1.5 million VND. The students are in especially difficult circumstances, orphans, severely disabled, children of victims of Agent Orange/dioxin, children of war invalids, grandchildren of martyrs, and grandchildren of heroic Vietnamese mothers.
At the program, Bac Lieu Lottery Company Limited donated 1 billion VND to the Vo Van Kiet Science Fund in 2025. In recognition of the unit's contributions, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Pham Van Thieu awarded a Certificate of Merit to this Company "For outstanding achievements in supporting the Vo Van Kiet Science Fund in 2025".
On this occasion, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Pham Van Thieu presented a symbolic plaque to support 1 billion VND to the Vo Van Kiet Science Fund. The Provincial Science Association awarded 105 members who achieved the "Policy families achieving the title of Outstanding Learning Families in 2025".
Speaking at the program, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Pham Van Thieu praised the meaningful results of the scientific and talent promotion work in recent years; especially thanked the benefactors inside and outside the province for supporting this cause. The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee affirmed: "The scientific and talent promotion work has aroused patriotism and promoted the tradition of studiousness; caring for those in especially difficult circumstances has practical significance and profound humanity, contributing significantly to improving the qualityof education and training, while reminding the younger generation to promote traditional values in the new era, actively studying and working to contribute to building the country.

* The Union of Friendship Organizations of Bac Lieu province has just coordinated with the Vietnam Scholarship Fund - a non- governmental organization based in the United States, to organize scholarships for students in two districts: Dong Hai and Hong Dan.
This is the scholarship awarding ceremony for the second semester of the 2024-2025 school year. Specifically, in Dong Hai district, 32 students received scholarships with a total amount of 60.25 million VND; in Hong Dan district, 21 students received scholarships with a total amount of 68.9 million VND.
A representative of the Vietnam Scholarship Fund said that the Fund is committed to continuing to accompany and provide long-term support to students who receive scholarships. This support lasts from primary school until they complete their studies at colleges or universities.
The scholarship awarding activity demonstrates the practical concern of the Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations and the Vietnam Scholarship Fund, contributing to sharing difficulties, encouraging spirit and adding motivation for students to strive to excel in their studies.
