The Organizing Committee symbolically awarded 52 An Giang Lottery scholarships, phase 1, school year 2025-2026, to poor and excellent students studying at colleges and universities in and outside the province. Of which, 12 students received Sponsorship scholarships; 1 student received Talent Encouragement scholarship; 1 student received scholarship for people with disabilities; 38 students received Encouragement scholarships, with a total amount of over 245.7 million VND. The An Giang Provincial Association for Encouragement of Education authorized schools in localities in the province to directly award the remaining scholarships to students.
Mr. Nguyen Dang Giai, Permanent Vice Chairman of the An Giang Provincial Association for Promotion of Education, said that in the 2025-2026 school year, An Giang Lottery Company will continue to spend more than 1.5 billion VND (equal to 50% of the scholarship for the entire 2025-2026 school year) to re-grant over 870 scholarships to poor, excellent students, and students with disabilities in limbs who are from An Giang (who received the second round of scholarships, 2024-2025 school year) who are studying at universities and colleges in and outside the province.
Of which, the Sponsorship (special) scholarship for university students is worth 16 million VND/student (first round is 8 million VND). The Encouragement Scholarship for university students is worth 12 million VND/student (first round is 6 million VND). The Encouragement Scholarship for university students is worth 8 million VND/student (first round is 4 million VND), college students are 4.5 million VND/student (first round is 2.25 million VND); high school students are 3 million VND/student; middle school students are 2.4 million VND/student.
As for scholarships for students with disabilities, each scholarship is worth from 3 to 14.4 million VND; depending on the disability and academic performance, students will be awarded the corresponding scholarship.
During 23 years of accompanying the An Giang Provincial Association for the Promotion of Education, the An Giang Lottery Scholarship Fund and other agencies, units and philanthropists have accompanied and supported tens of thousands of scholarships for disadvantaged and excellent students of the province with a total amount of over 100 billion VND, contributing to supporting them on their journey of learning and training.
Mr. Nguyen Dang Giai said that currently in An Giang province, especially in border areas, mountainous areas, and ethnic minority areas, there are still many poor, studious students, dedicated teachers facing difficult circumstances, in need of help from organizations, businesses, and philanthropists to improve their lives. The Provincial Association for Promotion of Education hopes to continue to receive the cooperation and support of sponsors, organizations, businesses, and philanthropists so that the work of promoting education and talent will spread more widely. At the same time, the Association will continue to closely coordinate with departments, branches, and sponsors so that the Lottery scholarships will spread more widely, contributing to helping students overcome difficulties to study well.
