On the morning of April 16, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism held a ceremony to summarize, award and open the exhibition of winning works of the propaganda painting contest to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025); the 50th anniversary of the liberation of Tay Ninh (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025); the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2025).
After 2 months of launching, the Organizing Committee received 257 paintings from 80 authors, including: 115 paintings for the propaganda contest celebrating the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification; 52 paintings for the 50th anniversary of the liberation of Tay Ninh; and 90 paintings for the 135th birthday of the great President Ho Chi Minh .
Mr. Nguyen Nam Giang - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism said that the contest is a meaningful activity, celebrating the important political events of the country in general and Tay Ninh province in particular. The entries expressed pride in the historic victory on April 30, 1975 of our army and people in the resistance war against the US, thereby feeling the strong spirit of "Faster, faster, bolder, bolder, taking advantage of every minute, every hour, rushing to the South. Determined to fight and complete victory" of the historic Ho Chi Minh campaign.
The image of the brave and resilient homeland of Tay Ninh, fighting to liberate the province, has been included in propaganda posters with constructive strokes and highly symbolic images. More than 50 works depict the picture of Tay Ninh today with the achievements after 50 years of construction and development, a united Tay Ninh rising up to build a rich and beautiful homeland.
According to the jury, with the theme of the 135th birthday of the great President Ho Chi Minh, the works depicted the image of President Ho Chi Minh with all the love and respect. Many propaganda paintings have high ideological and aesthetic values. The artists not only have professional qualifications in the field of propaganda graphics but also have deep emotions and inner motivation when creating.
“80 authors, both professional and non-professional artists nationwide, have shown the influence of the contest not only in Tay Ninh but also in other provinces and cities such as Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Dong Nai, Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Thap, Vinh Long, Ca Mau, Vinh Phuc, Quang Ninh... Especially in this year's contest, the youngest contestant award is for a 5th grade student, Suoi Ngo B Primary School, Suoi Ngo Commune, Tan Chau District, Tay Ninh Province, even an author over 80 years old also drew a picture to compete, or an author with many pictures in all 3 contents of the contest" - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Nam Giang added.
Contestant Ngo Nguyen Bao An - a 5B student at Suoi Ngo B Primary School, Suoi Ngo Commune, Tan Chau District shared that the school launched the contest so he participated, the teacher was the one who came up with the idea and suggested the topic for him. Receiving the award for the youngest contestant of the contest, he felt very happy and proud, through the contest he learned more history lessons.
As one of the contestants from outside the province, Nguyen Thi Thien Nam, a 4th year student at Ho Chi Minh City University of Fine Arts, shared the meaning of the painting she entered: “On the anniversary, people often think of the image of a soldier. Personally, I chose a cheerful image to feel the joy of victory on the day the country was liberated.”
As a result, with the theme of the 50th anniversary of Tay Ninh Liberation Day, the Organizing Committee awarded the First Prize to author Bui Van Minh Triet (Tay Ninh province), the Second Prize to authors: Nguyen Huu Loc (Ca Mau province), Ho Sy Khai (Dong Thap province).
The theme of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (no First Prize), the Second Prize was awarded to the authors: Nguyen Anh Thap (Vinh Yen City, Vinh Phuc Province), Le Van Tuan (Ba Ria City, Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province).
The theme of the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday (no first prize), the second prize was awarded to the authors: Nguyen Anh Thap (Vinh Phuc province), Nguyen Chung Bang (Vinh Phuc province).
In addition, the Organizing Committee also awarded Third Prizes, Encouragement Prizes and additional prizes to contestants.
