Visit the circular agriculture model combined with experiential tourism

Visit the circular agriculture model combined with experiential tourism

Trang Farm is a favorite sightseeing and experience spot for many children.

Unlike conventional agricultural models, Ms. Trang's model operates on the principle of "closed circulation" with an area of over 1 hectare and a total investment of over 1 billion VND. Ms. Trang shared: "The circular model helps me save on fertilizer and animal feed costs. More importantly, it protects the "health" of the soil and crops. Each part of the farm is like a link in a closed production chain, supporting each other and creating sustainability."

Currently, after 3 years of hard work and study, Ms. Trang's farm has 4,000m2 of milk grape growing area, 3,500m2 of strawberry growing area, the rest is a seasonal clean vegetable growing area, an operating house, a water reservoir and a hedgehog breeding area. Each area plays a certain role in the circular value chain: clean vegetables not only supply the market but also provide a source of fresh green food for the hedgehogs. In turn, organic fertilizer from the hedgehogs is processed and returned to the soil, helping to maintain fertility and microbial balance.

According to Ms. Trang, raising porcupines is an important link, helping to complete the agricultural cycle. Porcupine droppings are very nutritious, if processed properly, they will become high-quality organic fertilizer, helping to significantly improve the soil. In addition, using porcupine droppings to fertilize vineyards and strawberry gardens is both cost-effective and safe for the environment. In addition, porcupines are animals with high economic value, not only because porcupine meat is popular in cuisine but also because parts such as skin, fur, and nails can also be processed into handicraft products, bringing high economic value.

Taking advantage of the well-designed and scientifically designed farm space, Trang Farm not only provides clean vegetables and fruits to consumers but is also an ideal tourist destination for visitors. Visitors to the farm can harvest ripe strawberries, taste the sweetness of milk grapes or enjoy the peaceful feeling in the middle of nature.

When learning about Trang Farm through information on Facebook, Ms. Nguyen Thi Giang (Thanh Hoa City) brought her children here to experience. Ms. Giang said: “This is the first time my children and I have picked ripe strawberries and tasted them right in the garden. The experience is very different from buying them at the market or supermarket. In my opinion, this model both protects the environment and produces delicious and safe products, so I feel very secure when bringing my children here to play.”

In addition, the porcupine farming model also creates a unique highlight in experiential tourism. Visitors not only enjoy clean agricultural products but also have the opportunity to learn about the habits and habits of porcupines. Tourists who love farming will learn about the process of growing vegetables in an organic direction, how to process organic fertilizer from porcupines to improve the soil, and maintain natural fertility. “I want to build a space for both production and learning and relaxation. Visitors coming here will experience growing vegetables, picking fruits, and enjoying delicious meals from the garden's own products. That is how I spread the value of clean agriculture and connect people with nature,” Ms. Trang shared.

Currently, Trang Farm's agricultural model has stabilized with a significant source of income from selling clean vegetables, strawberries, milk grapes and porcupine meat. However, Trang Farm does not stop there. In the upcoming plan, Ms. Trang will use all profits to reinvest, expand the area of clean vegetables grown according to organic standards, upgrade the reception area to better serve the needs of visitors to the farm.

At the same time, Ms. Trang also seeks cooperation with tourism agencies and schools to organize practical experience programs, thereby promoting the image of circular agriculture, contributing to raising awareness of environmental protection and sustainable agricultural development. Mr. Nguyen Ha Thanh (Owner of ACE Montessori Preschool, Sam Son City) said: “After 2 times of cooperating with Trang Farm to organize field trips for children, I see that Trang Farm is not only a place to have fun but also a lively practical learning environment, helping children expand their knowledge of clean agriculture, develop life skills and raise awareness of environmental protection”.

The Trang Farm model is a typical example of a new direction for Vietnamese agriculture. Not only producing for sale, but also “telling stories” about the products, associated with experiences and community values. When green farms become destinations, where people connect more deeply with nature, it is a solid step for a green future, for long-term agricultural development and for local cultural values to be widely spread.
