This is also the last exam session, concluding the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2025-2026 school year.

The first candidates completed the specialized exam at Lam Son High School for the Gifted.

In the 2025-2026 school year, Lam Son High School for the Gifted will enroll 12 classes (420 students, 35 students/class), including specialized classes in Math, Literature and English (2 classes for each specialized subject); the remaining specialized classes include: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Information Technology, History, Geography (1 class for each specialized subject). The specialized subject exam is scored with a coefficient of 3. All exams are in essay form. The specialized English exam includes listening skills; the specialized Information Technology exam is in the form of Computer Programming.

After 150 minutes of concentration and serious work, candidates left the exam room with many different emotions.

As expected, the specialized subject exams have different levels of differentiation and are suitable for the abilities of the students taking the specialized exam.

Confident about his exam, Le Hung Anh, a student at Nguyen Hong Le Secondary School (Sam Son City) said: “This year's Literature exam is quite suitable, not too difficult for students majoring in Literature. The material is quite balanced in terms of capacity, the reading comprehension is quite easy, the writing part is a poem that tests students' comprehensive knowledge, while the social discussion part is quite new. To do well on this exam requires candidates to have a mindset. With this Literature exam, I am confident that I did quite well on the test.”

As a candidate for the History major at Lam Son High School for the Gifted, candidate Le Hoang Minh Ha, a student at Van Ha Middle School (Thieu Hoa), said: “This year is the year of many important events in the country, so candidates can predict that the exam will have a lot of content revolving around these major events. Therefore, I think that you will do well on your exam.”

After completing the Physics exam, candidate Nguyen Quynh Nhu, a student at Ly Tu Trong Secondary School ( Thanh Hoa City) said: “This year's Physics exam is quite suitable for students. The exam structure consists of 2 parts, the general part is about the solar system, the specific part includes thermomechanics, electro-optics and practice. The electro-optics part has the most points, so there are a few difficult questions that I am not very confident about. I hope my score will be as expected.”

According to teachers, this year's specialized subject exams are very good, with standard knowledge and skills, high differentiation, requiring candidates to have really good skills. The exams classify excellent students to enter specialized schools.

Evaluating the History and Geography exam for students taking the Geography exam, teacher Le Dinh Hien, teacher at Dong Bac Ga Primary, Secondary and High School (Thanh Hoa City) said: "The exam was constructed relatively scientifically, closely following the direction ofeducational innovation towards developing learners' capacity. The exam has a clear and reasonable structure, with a sufficient number of questions (4 questions out of a total time of 150 minutes is suitable for 9th grade students), including general and specific parts, helping students easily orient themselves to do the exam. The content of some questions is practically related to the issue of climate change in the Mekong Delta, the role of the Party in the renovation process... thereby raising students' civic awareness and social understanding. The exam has good differentiation, demonstrated through the distribution of the levels of recognition - understanding - application and high application in questions 2, 3, 4, especially question number 4. The exam also ensures integrative between History and Geography, between Vietnamese History and World History. However, in my opinion, the exam still has some shortcomings such as: Question 4, requires long presentation and analysis, unclear expression, can cause pressure or go off topic for students if they do not have good reading, presentation and synthesis skills.

Mr. Hien said: “This is a seriously constructed exam, with a clear educational orientation, in line with the trend of innovative assessment of capacity. Suitable for selecting good students for specialized schools. To achieve high scores on this exam, students not only have to memorize events but also need to know how to analyze, evaluate and relate to reality.”

Regarding the Literature exam, teacher Pham Thi Giang, a teacher at Cu Chinh Lan Secondary School (Thanh Hoa City) commented: “The selected materials are very standard, suitable for the psychology and perception of 9th grade students, suitable for the customs and traditions of Vietnamese people, and highly educational and humane. All questions are clear, not puzzling, and not confusing for candidates. The questions in the exam not only test the ability to read and understand texts but also create a connection between literature and life. The Reading Comprehension section tested both Vietnamese knowledge and reading comprehension of students. The Writing section, the argumentative paragraph writing question clearly pointed out the issues to be discussed, but still discovered the students' ability to understand life in a profound way. Question 2 in the Writing section alone tested the knowledge of poetry that appeared in the literature knowledge section of some lessons, as well as the ability to connect theoretical knowledge with the ability to analyze and perceive literature from a perspective. science ".

With this exam, Ms. Giang believes that candidates need to be creative in the process of doing the test when combining their opinions and works. In general, the Literature exam has met the requirements for developing students' qualities and abilities, providing space for students to develop their own literary abilities, with beautiful and humane materials. The exam is suitable for selecting students with good abilities according to the requirements of Lam Son Literature.

Regarding the natural science exam this year, many teachers also said that the exam was relatively suitable for specialized students.

Evaluating the Physics exam, teacher Nguyen Thi Hang, Physics teacher at Tran Mai Ninh Secondary School (Thanh Hoa City), said: “The exam has the right structure, suitable for the 2018 General Education Program. However, the exam is too long, has many ideas, requires a wide range of knowledge, requiring candidates to clearly understand the nature of Physics, calculate and reason carefully. Therefore, candidates who study by heart will find it very difficult to get high scores on this exam. In my opinion, the average score for Physics will be between 6.0 and 7.5 points.”

Thinking that the Chemistry exam was relatively long and difficult, teacher Le Viet Ha, a teacher at Tran Mai Ninh Secondary School (Thanh Hoa City) shared: “The exam was very good, with the right structure but long and difficult. The exam had 7 large questions divided into 16 small questions and in the 16 small questions there were 35 ideas. With a duration of 150 minutes, it was quite long. Some questions contained knowledge that was difficult for secondary school students. With this exam, it was relatively difficult for students to get high scores.”

After 2 days of exams, the 10th grade High School Entrance Exam for the 2025-2026 school year in Thanh Hoa has officially ended, leaving many special emotions for more than 43,500 candidates - the first batch of candidates taking the exam according to the 2018 General Education Program.
